He began his career in sales at Milwaukee Tool, where he quickly learned the importance of relationships, consistency, and understanding customer pain points. Those early years—working directly with contractors and construction professionals—sparked his fascination with the trades industry and its untapped potential for growth through technology.
From there, Nick joined Signpost, where he mastered scalable sales processes and saw firsthand how software could transform business operations. That experience planted the seed for entrepreneurship.

In 2017, Nick took the leap and founded PeakLeads.io, a company dedicated to helping commercial roofing contractors generate consistent, high-quality B2B leads. Over six years, he bootstrapped and grew the business from scratch, creating innovative tools—including a mobile CRM for field sales teams—that helped contractors close more deals and operate more efficiently. His success eventually led to the sale of his ownership stake.

Around the same time, he became a partner at The Roofing Academy, helping build a consulting and learning platform tailored for contractors. There, he focused on branding and marketing strategy, further deepening his understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities.

By late 2022, Nick channeled everything he had learned into his most ambitious venture yet: Better Boss. As Founder & CEO, he leads a team that’s revolutionizing the roofing industry through AI-driven automation systems. Learning to build a business from the ground up without formal funding was equal parts humbling and empowering.
There were also challenges in earning trust within the roofing industry — a field that traditionally runs on handshakes and word-of-mouth, not automation or AI.
