Community Highlights: Meet Nicole Fisher of Akasha Mobile Tanning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Fisher. 

Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Since I was 6 years old my dream has been to own my own business. I started many interesting faux ones! I have gone on several different paths and unexpectedly ended up in esthetics. I just assumed I would own my own spa, however that sounded too common to me. I had to think of something more creative. Then, after fulfilling another dream to move to Colorado from Florida I had no funds left to start a spa. I thought I would work out of my home, but that was done a lot too. After going back and forth trying to get a client to come to my house, and having schedule conflicts, I asked my very first client how she felt about me going to her home. She said ok! I was so nervous going into people’s homes at first, and also just putting myself out there. How would this really work?! Would people even want this service? Well, 100s of clients, life changes, having two kids and 7 years later I found the answer is yes! I have become close with my clients and value both them and their business. I can’t wait for the next appointment to see how things are going with them. I also love what I do and cherish every single day I go to work. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been smooth sailing. This business is very sporadic and has seasons. We also count on people traveling and being social so when the pandemic hit our business really suffered. We are thriving now and so happy to see our clients back out their living and enjoying life.

Servicing Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, in between and surrounding areas. We specialize in providing the most sophisticated spray tanning experience imaginable. We are proud to use and offer the most natural products on the market that are both vegan and paraben-free. 

What makes you happy?
I am truly happy when I am spending quality time with my partner and kids. Taking in, being present, and grateful for our moments together is very satisfying and important to me. My career allows me time and flexibility to make these moments happen. I also find happiness in making others feel and look good. I am blessed to be able to provide this to my clients which in turn brings me incredible joy!
