Community Highlights: Meet Shpati Kadi of Cronos Products

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shpati Kadi

Hi Shpati, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Albania in 1985, during a time when the country was under communist rule, and growing up wasn’t easy. In 2009, I moved to the U.S. and settled in Denver, Colorado, starting out with various jobs before following my passion for cars.

In 2011, my sister and I opened a body shop in Aurora, which I still own today. In 2017, I expanded by adding a car mechanic shop, but in 2023, I decided to sell it after realizing there was a real need for high-quality car wash and detailing products—not just products that claim to work but actually don’t. That’s what led me to start Cronos Products, where we create premium, American-made car care products that deliver real results.

Now, I balance running both businesses, focusing on growing Cronos while continuing to serve customers at my body shop. My goal is to bring real value to car enthusiasts and professionals who take pride in their vehicles.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Growing up in Albania under communism, life was simple but difficult. Opportunities were limited, and no matter how hard you worked, success wasn’t guaranteed. Moving to the U.S. was a huge change. I was grateful for the chance to build a better future, but starting over wasn’t easy. I had to learn the language, adapt to a new culture, and take whatever jobs I could just to get by.

When my sister and I opened our body shop, it was a big step, but it came with a lot of challenges. Back home, businesses relied on personal connections, but here, we had to prove ourselves from the ground up. There were times when business was slow, and I worried about how we would keep going, but we kept pushing forward and learning along the way.

After some time, I opened a mechanic shop, but managing two businesses wasn’t easy. Finding the right people, keeping up with rising costs, and handling the daily stresses of running a business took a toll. Eventually, I decided to sell the mechanic shop and focus on something I saw a real need for—car care products that actually work. That’s how Cronos Products started.

Life in Europe and life in the U.S. are very different. In Albania, things move slower, and people focus more on stability. Here, it’s all about growth and opportunity, but it comes with a lot of risks and hard work. I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, and there were moments when I questioned if I was on the right path. But through it all, I’ve been lucky to have the chance to build something of my own. It hasn’t been easy, and there’s still a long way to go, but I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned and the journey so far.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cronos Products started because I saw a real need for car wash and detailing products that actually work. There are so many products out there that make big promises but don’t deliver, and I wanted to create something people could trust.

What makes us different is that we make everything here in the US using high-quality ingredients. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel, just making sure that when someone buys one of our products, they know they are getting something that does the job right.

What I’m most proud of is the trust we are starting to build. Seeing people use our products and actually love them means everything to me. It is not about being the biggest brand, it is about doing things the right way without cutting corners.

At the end of the day, I just want people to know that Cronos Products is built on honesty and quality. Whether you are a professional or just someone who takes pride in their car, I want you to feel good about what you are using. I know what it is like to spend money on things that don’t work, and that is why I do this. To make sure people get something real.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk is just a part of life, especially when you are trying to build something on your own. Moving to the US with nothing was a risk. Starting a business with no guarantees was a risk. Every big decision I have made has come with uncertainty, but I have learned that if you wait for the perfect moment, you will never move forward.

One of the biggest risks I took was opening my first shop. I didn’t have a big safety net, and there were times when I wasn’t sure if we would make it. Expanding into a mechanic shop was another big leap, and eventually, selling it to start Cronos Products was probably the biggest risk of all. I was stepping into a whole new industry, learning things from scratch, and competing against well-known brands. There were no guarantees, but I believed in what I was doing.

I don’t think of myself as someone who takes reckless risks, but I also know that playing it too safe can hold you back. I believe in calculated risks. You have to weigh your options, trust your instincts, and be willing to put in the work. Nothing is ever certain, but if you don’t take a chance, you will always wonder what could have been.
