Community Highlights: Meet Tamra Andress of F.I.T. in Faith Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamra Andress.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been an entrepreneur for nearly 15 years. Starting over 11 different companies, inclusive of small network marketing businesses, personal training and nutrition companies, a brick-and-mortar store, a global online business, and most recently a coaching firm and media company.

I took a huge pivot in me-centered business to THEY-centered business about 4 years ago. What I mean by that, is even though I always had focused on the customer and what they wanted out of it, I was always showing up for selfish reasons. After a quarter-life crisis, losing two CEO positions and companies, I took a deep dive into self-development, my faith, and my true passion discovery. I realized entrepreneurship was always a part of that picture, but it was less about me starting more and more companies and more about me assisting others in starting their own!

It has since emerged into my clients earning 100’s of thousands in revenue, many shifting from 9 to 5 jobs to live free and joyful lives as mission-driven entrepreneurs, bringing life to their passions from their past and colliding it to their purpose. F.I.T. in Faith Media Co emerged from my podcast and coaching expedition over the last 3 years and we are excited to continue to serve through publication, press, and play – associated to podcasting, publishing authors, and building businesses!

God uses ALL parts of who you are, your gifts and talents, and each day I get to show up serving from a different passion point that helps others stand in the fullness of who they are called to be too! It’s So much fun!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha, smooth is a lie. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It was an adventure! And each step of the way whether I was failing or winning, I was learning how to be a better coach, entrepreneur, steward of my money and talents, and servant leader.

I mentioned the quarter-life crisis – that stemmed from perfectionism, people-pleasing, living my life based on the expectations of others, a false sense of identity, mask-wearing, materialism, and greed. Makes me sound like a horrible person when you type it out like that…but I honestly think a lot of society is living in that rat-wheel, workaholic mentality and they truly don’t even know the deepest layer of themselves or what brings them true joy!

That is one of the reasons I pivoted to serve and help people step into their greatness, but with emphasis on WHO they are rather than who the world is telling them they should be. Entrepreneurship is an inside-out job and we have to show up WHOLE and authentic to truly help and serve other people.

As you know, we’re big fans of F.I.T. in Faith Media Co. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
F.I.T. in Faith Media Co. is a consulting firm that supports founders, innovators, and trailblazers who want to share their message and create impact and income from their gifts and talents! We are a business consulting firm serving through group and individualized programs, personal and professional development retreats, and conferences.

I have a personal passion for speaking and teaching and do that daily through my podcast and virtual, audio, and live stages. I’ve been referred to as the entrepreneurial rabbi because I interweave faith as the foundation to our businesses and believe we cannot exist segmented or compartmentalized if we want to live in abundance and prosperity. People have also coined me the “conference closer” because I have a unique methodology of combining every speaker before me into a unique spoken word that intersects with my message as an interactive and theatrical experiential learning message.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Stop trying to come up with ideas that exhaust you and instead lean into your natural gifts, talents, and passion that exhilarate you. You’ll never lose your why. You’ll never lose momentum. And you won’t have to do sales, you’ll become a magnet-based on how you serve authentically and with excitement!
