Community Highlights: Meet Tanja Nelson of Next Chapter Real Estate CO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanja Nelson.

Hi Tanja, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my real estate career in 2016 after taking a couple years away from work to help take care of my mom.
I moved from a national brokerage to an on-line only brokerage, then a smaller local brokerage before deciding that opening my own brokerage was the right fit for me.
During my journey, I also realized that most of my clients were either people needing to downsize into a more manageable home, or people helping their parents with their end of life moves. I noticed that there are so many similar questions that need answered, and services required to make these moves easier, so I decided to specialize in this section of real estate.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The best thing about real estate is that no two transactions are the same. The hard thing about real estate is that no two transactions are the same. Things are alway shifting in the real estate market. In fact, we are in the middle of a shift again. Managing expectations of my clients, no matter which side of the transaction they are on, is the most important thing I can do. Everyone knows 12 people in the real estate profession, and everyone knows 40 people who have bought or sold homes, and all of those people have advice and opinions on how things should go or be handled. It’s my job to keep my clients focused, confident and positive. My clients will tell you that relationships and communication are my top priority.

Next Chapter Real Estate CO opened last November. I started Next Chapter because I believe that a real estate move always indicates a new chapter in your life – no matter if you are buying your first home, needing to up-size for your family or if it’s time to downsize after the nest becomes empty, or if you are ready for your late-life move.

I specialize in Seniors Real Estate – working with families who are making or helping loved ones make their late life move. I enjoy connecting people with other people and businesses who have hearts for this demographic. It’s amazing what services are seniors focused!

What matters most to you? Why?
Relationships matter most to me. Making sure my clients are confident that I’m always available to answer questions, explain steps in the process and always serving them with honesty and integrity, with their interests at the forefront of each transaction is extremely important.
