Today we’d like to introduce you to Wreck’d Collective.
Hello, Wreck’d Collective, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hey friends, Ali Rice and Michelle Marchewka of Wreck’d Collective here!
We are Colorado transplants who became best friends through our love of design, nature, thrifting, dance and so much more. While spending a girl’s weekend in Breckenridge, CO we were inspired to start this collection after spotting similar styles on locals and in shops. We launched our very first collection in Spring 2023!
Wreck’d Collective is a women-owned clothing boutique with a focus on sustainability and upcycled fashion. We focus on being environmentally friendly and reducing waste by thrifting and upcycling gently used wares and giving them a second life. We pick only the best-thrift gems and reinvent them with bleach splatter, decolorization techniques, hand-painted graphics, appliques, and patches. We also offer custom apparel.
We sell our creations on our website, at local pop-up events, and at local boutiques and consignment shops including Circa Vintage and Meraki Springs, both in the Old Colorado City of Colorado Springs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our biggest challenge overall has been time management between all of our combined interests!
Running a brand new upcycled clothing business while simultaneously making sure we are making a living is our biggest challenge thus far. But, being able to be creative, promote slow fashion with upcycled garments, and see the smiles on our customer’s faces when they find a piece that resonates with them makes it all worth it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Wreck’d Collective?

What’s next?
We plan to continue creating unique upcycled gems and would eventually love to own a storefront.
We are also looking to expand into more local boutiques and consignment shops and would like to branch out into wholesale options. We can’t wait to see how our creations evolve.
