Community Highlights: Meet Yadira Lerma of Mariscos a Todo Mar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yadira Lerma.

Hi Yadira, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Mariscos a Todo Mar is the result of a lifetime of hard work and believing in possibility. I’m the daughter of Mexican immigrants, and growing up, I learned early the value of sacrifice, responsibility, and showing up every day with heart and determination.

After spending many years in the corporate world and later stepping into entrepreneurship, I felt called to build something of my own that honored my roots and served my community. In 2025, I opened Mariscos a Todo Mar in Longmont with the goal of creating a welcoming, family-oriented space where food, culture, and connection come together.

I stay hands-on in every part of the business and see my team as family. For me, this restaurant isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of resilience, gratitude, and the journey that shaped who I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning an entirely new business from the ground up. The restaurant industry is fast-paced and demanding, and there’s no manual that prepares you for everything that happens day to day.

There have been moments of trial and error, long hours, and tough lessons, but each challenge pushed me to learn quickly, adapt, and grow as a business owner. Those struggles helped me build stronger systems, trust my instincts, and become more resilient. In many ways, learning as I go has been the greatest part of the journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mariscos a Todo Mar. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Mariscos a Todo Mar is a family-oriented Mexican seafood restaurant rooted in culture, quality, and community. We specialize in fresh seafood dishes inspired by coastal Mexican flavors—ceviches, aguachiles, and signature plates made to be shared and enjoyed together. Our goal has always been to create a place where people feel welcome, whether they’re coming in for a family meal, a celebration, or simply good food and good energy.

What sets us apart is the intention behind everything we do. We focus on fresh ingredients, responsible operations, and an atmosphere that blends culture, music, and warmth. I’m very hands-on in the business, and that presence shows in the consistency of our service and the way we treat our guests and our team.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that feels authentic to who I am and where I come from. Mariscos a Todo Mar isn’t just about food—it’s about creating a space that reflects resilience, hard work, and pride in our roots while serving the broader Longmont community.

I want readers to know that behind this brand is a lot of heart, discipline, and love for the people we serve. We’re still growing, still learning, and committed to doing things the right way—one plate, one guest, and one day at a time.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’d just like readers to know that every small business is built on a lot of unseen work, patience, and faith. Mariscos a Todo Mar exists because of community support, my team’s dedication, and the belief that showing up consistently and doing things with integrity truly matters.

I’m deeply grateful for the people who support local businesses and for the opportunity to grow, learn, and give back through what we’re building. This journey is still unfolding, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
