Community Highlights: Meet Zara Jenkins of Honey Buzz Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zara Jenkins.

Hi Zara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Over the last couple of years, I have been noticing just how corrupt consumerism has become. Corporations are putting crazy chemicals in our food, clothes, beauty products, and much more. I got tired of reading ingredient lists and seeing harsh chemicals in all of the things I was buying. There is no need for half the stuff they put in your products/food.

First I started by revamping how I look at food and where it’s coming from. My kitchen pantry has changed so much. I started my garden where I grow everything organically and pesticide free. I have become so much healthier and happier knowing where my food is coming from. My husband and I also raised our chickens, all pastured poultry with no growth hormones, antibiotics, vaccines, chemical sprays, or any of the extra crap they put in your grocery store chicken.

Now I am realizing just how important it is to have quality and natural skin care for my well-being. I don’t want my skin to absorb unnatural chemicals that I don’t need. I also want to help others who are having a difficult time finding natural skin care products. I love wearing makeup and I love scented lotions and shampoos. But not when it compromises my health.

I went into a deep dive into all things beauty. How it’s made and what is put into it. I am starting with natural sugar scrubs. And soon lip balms, makeup, and lotions. I will eventually start educational videos on my products and go further into explaining some of the products out there. Until then, I hope to provide everyone with natural skin care products through this line. You can also see my account @zarakjenkins.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is not a smooth road when it comes to natural, cruelty-free skincare. Finding ingredients and doing the right research behind all of the ingredients was tough. As I continue to add new products, it gets easier as I use a lot of the same natural and healthy ingredients.

Honey Buzz Care is a skincare line that offers skin care products such as lotions, soaps, and makeup. Our motto is, All Natural Ingredients Always. Honey Buzz Care is very different from other skincare lines because each product uses all-natural ingredients and is handmade with care and thought.
