Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Lowry
Hi Adrienne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Adrienne Lowry, a versatile photographer and visual storyteller. My journey with photography began in 2007; I was given my mom’s Canon AE-1 and took a B&W photo class in high school. I was instantly hooked. I am passionate about crafting dynamic and strategic art that connects with people. Since 2014, I’ve worked as a freelance photographer, primarily collaborating with various artists and events as well as contracting with music festivals and tour operations. One of my most recent accomplishments was my photo published for Nigel Hall’s single, “Wake Me,” on all music platforms.
I like to work closely with clients to ensure their vision shines through in every project. I love all forms of digital and film photography and experimenting with alternative processes. Whether I’m capturing concert tours or creating visual moments for clients, I always focus on telling a story and bringing artistry to every frame.
Right now, I’m preparing to photograph for Nilufer Yanya’s North America Tour, which is such an exciting experience. My background in the entertainment industry has really allowed me to combine technical skills with creativity in ways that resonate with both my clients and the audience. Looking ahead, I’m eager to branch out more into food and brand photography, which I feel will allow me to expand the range of stories I can tell through my work.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a journey. I have gone back and forth with photography with it being my main focus vs being on the backburner while I work in event operations and contract tours selling merchandise and assistant tour managing. Photography has always been there for me and I’ve learned that it’s there for a reason.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in travel, events, and concerts. I would love to get more into food and brand photography. My editing style is moody but in a way that brings comfort. I like to think of it as freezing the feeling in that moment. When possible I prefer to use film or play with alternative processes.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in Charlottesville, VA and was lucky enough to spend my summers in Canada. Young Adrienne was afraid of a lot of things, and the older I got and continue to get, I find I do a lot of very scary things with little to no thought. Over the years I’ve learned that the scariest things usually bring the best rewards. I like to adventure, experience new things, share moments with friends, create experiences for people and I have seen this consistent theme through my life.
