Conversations with Akeem Tuli

Today we’d like to introduce you to Akeem Tuli.

Hi Akeem, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started doing photography in my last year of college. It was something that I’d been wanting to get into for a while and just so happened to have that little push and went for it. My main focus right now is sports photography and I’ve had the great pleasure to be around a bunch of great athletes from grade school to professionals.

My next goal is to start doing wedding photography because I love the atmosphere and vibe of the whole event, but I also like the moments that the bride and groom share the whole day and their families.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been going good so far but I can say in the beginning it wasn’t too bad of a start.

I had to get over the fact that I wasn’t profiting off of photography at first because I didn’t have the right tools, but I tried my best to stay consistent and eventually, things started turning over all thanks to God.

I have also started working on getting into videography on the sports side of things.

I grew up watching sports and always wanted to make highlight videos for various athletes. I still have a long way of work to do to get my work to the next level but I love the process.
