Conversations with Alejandro Lucchetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandro Lucchetta.

Hi Alejandro, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I remember when I was 3 years old I was playing with my older sister Liz and we would pretend that she would come to my beauty salon to do her hair with me. One day I grabbed a hair dryer with bare wires and plugged it in. I was electrocuted and I remember my sister looking at me and laughing, thinking that I was playing. The next thing I remember is waking up in the hospital.

When I was barely 14 years old, old enough to go to beauty school. I started to study. And to work in salons from the age of 15. I worked in the most important salons in Argentina until in 2008 I opened my salon in the city of Buenos Aires, I was the hair stylist of the most famous and rich people in Argentina, I became a celebrity myself and in The best of that moment I decided to move to the United States, and here I am and I continue to develop my career…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t easy at all. But I don’t regret anything about everything I’ve gone through to achieve my dreams and have achieved them. Nothing was so smooth, but not impossible either. And I knew it. As I always say: If you can see the big photo of what you want in your mind you can have it all that you see.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I feel like my job (My Misión) is to make people look good, and make them feel better and confident about themselves. I am a hair stylist, for men and women, I have been doing haircuts, colors, and hairstyles for 26 years.

I worked in movies, musical theater, television, and many other things. I do not compare myself with any other professional, I feel that the path and the experience are so unique that it is impossible to say what distinguishes you from others. I believe that we are all unique in our profession and our lives in general.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
What I would say to that person who is starting their career in any beauty sector is to be yourself! nothing is fashion until it is invented, fashion is born in the streets. Express your ideas, every head you work on is a piece of art and it is your art. You are an artist.
