Conversations with Angela J. Lulu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela J. Lulu

Hi Angela J., thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In January of 2019 a mother of 5 beautiful children I received a terrifying cancer scare that forever changed my life, after encountering many tests and numerous visits with my Doctor left me feeling as though my identity as a woman was subsequently taken from me, with back-to-back surgeries, including a full hysterectomy. What once felt normal was not so normal the weight of all of this drained my marriage and left me feeling hopeless I hit my knees begging God for a miracle and feel he has answered my prayers with abundance of healing and later discovered all biopsies test came back pre-cancer.. Thank you Jesus!

Later in 2019 I was called to go on a medical mission’s trip where I had the opportunity to help open a clinic on the border of Haiti. This trip was life changing and inspirational. We cared for so many amazing people met some amazing women that I forever connected with I had a restored faith and a new passion to support them but was not sure how..

late 2021 I felt empowered to start over.. My soul pushed me towards a new life, new home, new career I was forced to walk this path with limited family and friends not knowing who I can trust felt as though I was left with limited support / network. I isolated myself not knowing what Lies ahed for our future I numbed my thoughts and feelings with work, during this phase of life at the same time needed to decide my next steps.

Early 2022 I decided to go back to school I took a 6mo hybrid program after graduating and receiving my Esthetics degree I was inspired to open a business, I renovated and opened my business inside my new home was advised to wait, hold off on any major decisions but I didn’t listen to anyone I kept pushing towards my vision and dreams got a real time crash course in marketing, advertising, studio design, building and managing a business with no help, guidance or experience approaching my 3rd year I am grateful for all the challenges, The lessons and an abundance of clientele This growth has brought me great joy, I have been able to support my family and serve my community with my growing services as self made entrepreneur, permanent make up artist, brow development, microblading, lash artist, advanced facials, body contouring and getting ready to launch and teach courses in the spring. I have also been blessed to be able to give back to my community, and to a cause that is woven into my heart, by offering free brow services for women struggling with the loss of hair during a battle with cancer 6mo post remission It’s been a challenging road but I live my mission to change women’s lives by helping them face their inner struggles and insecurities by sharing my story in hope they will realize their beauty and strength within and to keep persevering..

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Going on 3years newly single mother of five in the midst of many challenging life events I had to sell my home, move and relocate to a different city, at the same time finishing night school for my esthetics degree with additional certifications right in the middle of a career change and divorce working endless hours in healthcare at the height of the pandemic that time seems like a blur, Was told by my loved ones that I was doing too much and that I couldn’t do it, but apart me wouldn’t give up I was fueled by pain and passion while silently overcoming many Triumphs coming to realization that many single women have had to walk this path and the truth that no one is coming to rescue you. This was a trusting season I had to dive deep in my soul to find the strength, the will , the drive in the midst of struggle and chaos to keep pushing forward and trust that brighter days were ahead.. So many of my beautiful sisters just need a little pick me upper, Just someone to encourage, inspire and empower them by my story to help remind them just who they are and what they are capable of doing and most importantly that they are not alone. We as women do what we need to do when life seems like theres no hope. my goal is to remind them they can do this with beauty and grace. That is where my mission for my beauty business was birthed.
