Conversations with Annette MacNeal-Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annette MacNeal-Davis.

Hi Annette, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with my love and passion for fashion. My passion for fashion turned into a desire to provide a very unique specialized shopping experience for women of all sizes and to carry a specific line of quality, high fashion items to appeal to a specific group of customers. My business is faith-based, and I strongly believe God enables us to do all things. Knowing that I stepped out on faith and trusted God to be the light along the avenue of creating my online boutique.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
With all-new things, the unknown is always a struggle. There are many successful people in this industry, but starting something from scratch and knowing how to do it can be daunting and quite overwhelming. Staying ahead of the times, finding inventory, and predicting future fashion trends can be a huge gamble. Yes, there has been some bumps along the road, but I put my faith in the Lord and continue to persevere.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Although I own a boutique, I still have a full-time job not related to the boutique, and I have been employed there for 25 years. I am extremely proud of myself for following my dreams and for building my business. I am eligible for retirement at my full-time job, but I am extremely excited about what am I am building for the future of my family. Many people do not have a plan for themselves after retirement, but I can gladly say I have built something I am in love with and will enjoy doing while still being able to provide for my family.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Living my dream and witnessing women feeling great as a result of the fashion from my boutique will remain my purpose. And though this journey has not always been easy, I always explain to people who ask for help to get started in this industry that my success is a combination of a multifaceted, well-thought-out plan and continued love and support from my husband and daughter.
