Conversations with Armani Donahue & Rondy Isaac

Today we’d like to introduce you to Armani Donahue & Rondy Isaac.

Hi Armani Donahue &, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
BTY was created by 4 Black women in 2018. Their goal was to bring wellness to the community. Through life’s trials and tribulations each of the 4 founding members walked away to start a family, new projects, or moved away. In July of 2023 Armani and Rondy took over responsibility of BTY! We are in the process of relaunching the brand and highlighting our collaborations with aligned partnerships.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The residual effects of the pandemic are still with us. A lot of our members left because they didn’t want to be in spaces with lots of people. Folks are now starting to return to public classes in numbers..

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are wellness providers to our community! We are a Black owned and lead organization. Our business model is based upon healing through cultural alignment, emphasis on positive energy flow and the wisdom of nature. Our offerings are open to all, but have an Afro-centric tilt to our practices. BTY is known for offering a relax comfortable and joyous practice. We are proud to practice wellness in a radical form of rest and relaxation first!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Being in a talent-show in the projects.. I sang a Marvin Gaye song not well! I had a maroon and gray crush velvet suit on with a gray turtle neck, platform shoes and a brimmed hat cocked to the side. The suit gave me the confidence to go on stage., but the support and encouragement I got from the audience was priceless.
