Conversations with Brittney Callinan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Callinan

Brittney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my journey in esthetics during the global pandemic in 2020, when I decided to enroll in esthetics school. I was initially drawn to the field because I struggled with my own skin issues, including rosacea, redness, dryness, and acne, which had always been a source of insecurity for me. Once I began my classes, I quickly realized that skincare was more than just an interest—it was my passion.
Throughout school, I became fascinated with the science behind skincare and the ways in which the right treatments could transform not only the skin but also a person’s confidence. This discovery fueled my determination to heal my own skin and to help others do the same.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to continuously learning and improving my skills. I am a business owner and licensed esthetician of 3 years. I have a private studio at Sola Salons in Aurora, CO, where I provide advanced skincare treatments for all skin types. Some of the facial treatments I provide are custom facials, acne treatments, dermaplaning, microchanneling, and LED light therapy.
I’ve taken pride in going above and beyond for my clients, showing through my beautifully curated treatment room and both during treatments and at home -when guiding clients with their skincare regimen for long term health.
My commitment to my clients has been the driving force behind my growth in the field. I look forward to continuing this journey and making a positive impact on their confidence and skin.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Becoming an esthetician and launching my own business during the global pandemic has been a challenging yet rewarding journey. Attending school full-time during this period presented unique difficulties, with constant restrictions and schedule changes impacting both in-person training and virtual learning. Starting my business was also challenging, as I was new to both the state and the esthetics industry, having moved to Denver from New Jersey in 2019, leaving behind family and friends.

Given these circumstances, I knew it would take time to establish myself and gain the exposure needed to grow. After graduating from esthetics school, I began working from home, setting up a workspace in my living room and sharing my work on a newly created Instagram page. I started by offering free services, gradually transitioning to affordable facials. Over time, this approach helped me build a loyal clientele and establish Good Skin Company as a trusted name in the esthetics industry.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are many ways to support Good Skin Company. Booking an appointment is a great way to experience my personalized skincare services firsthand. You can also support the business by purchasing homecare products, available in-studio or online to keep your skin looking and feelings its best.

I’m always enthusiastic about collaborating with other professionals, small businesses, and brands, don’t hesitate to reach out- I’d love to explore potential partnerships and opportunities together.

Engaging with my content on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook—through likes, comments, shares, or tags—goes a long way in helping to spread the word. Referrals from happy clients are priceless, and I truly appreciate them. And if you have a moment to leave a positive review on Google, it really helps boost the visibility and credibility of my business.
