Conversations with Brittney Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Smith. 

Brittney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Colorado Gowns to give others the opportunity to wear gorgeous long flowing gowns that are not normally found in your everyday closet. I want other women to feel empowered and beautiful in my gowns. Dress up does not have to end just because we grow up and become adults. Having the opportunity to see so many others work through photography and modeling of these gowns has been the best part for me. I have been able to get to where I am today through every single follower and person who has supported me, primarily through the Colorado Gowns Instagram account. I owe them all of it. We are always adding more gowns to the collection of rentals and often times put it to a poll on the Instagram account to determine which gown is next. Every day is a new adventure and I am so excited for what the future continues to bring for my little business, 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely has not always been a smooth road, like any small business, getting established and getting my name out there has been challenging. Colorado Gowns was born, so to speak, in March and has definitely taken time to grow since then. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In my personal life, I am an executive assistant for a local small business moving company. I run the calendars, set up moves, follow up on leads, and just about anything else that may need to be done. I run Colorado Gowns in the evening hours after being done with the daily work duties. 

I would say that I am most proud of being a full-time single mom to my three girls, working a full-time job during the day, and having this b business as well. It is all a lot of work but so so rewarding. I love ending the day with a smile on my face and knowing that I’ve accomplished so much within 24 hours 

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you can dream it, you can do it! I know that sounds cheesy, but seriously! Colorado Gowns started as an idea. More of an “oh that would be fun!” Kind of thought. I never would have dreamed that it would have grown into what it is now but it has. All of the support I’ve received over this last year has continued to push me and drive me to keep running in this business and there is absolutely no end in sight.
