Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie.
Hi Callie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
From an early age, I’ve had a mind full of wonder for simple things — a blade of grass glinting in the light, or the quiet beauty of my family connecting. That appreciation for small, fleeting moments shaped how I see the world. When I reached college, photography became my way to explore that curiosity further. It started as a way to branch out socially, but it quickly became something deeper. I found joy in using my camera to empower others and help them feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.
What began as a creative outlet soon turned into a way to tell stories, celebrate connection, and honor the emotion behind everyday life. I carried that same purpose into the wedding industry shortly after, where I fell in love with capturing genuine love stories and the unspoken moments between people.
Today, my work is centered around preserving those authentic, in-between moments that reveal who people truly are. I’m passionate about creating a comfortable space where you can relax and simply be yourself, so I can capture the beauty of your real laughter, your whimsical love, and those perfectly imperfect details that make your story uniquely yours.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road, and I think that’s true for most creative paths. One of the biggest challenges early on was finding my voice and building confidence in my work, but early on I often doubted whether my perspective was unique or valuable. Breaking into the wedding industry brought its own set of hurdles from learning how to run a business to balancing the emotional weight of capturing such important moments, all while trying to maintain my own creative vision.
There were times when the long hours and uncertainty felt overwhelming, but those struggles also taught me resilience and patience. They helped me understand the importance of creating authentic connections with the people I work with, and they shaped the approach I take to every session today. Looking back, I can see that the challenges were essential in helping me grow, both as an artist and as a person.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in capturing intentional, intimate, and human moments that tell the story of your life. My goal is always to create a space where people can be completely themselves, so that the memories I capture feel authentic and meaningful. I focus on tailoring each experience to the individuals or couples I work with, finding unique ways to tell their story — whether that’s a quiet, candid moment, or an adventurous session in a place that truly speaks to their hearts.
I’m especially drawn to destination weddings and elopements because of their intimate and deeply personal nature. I love helping couples feel fully present on their special day while handling the details, so they can relax and enjoy every moment. One of the things I’m most proud of is building trust and creating a safe space where everyone feels welcome, seen, and valued. I photograph all people and all love, and I never discriminate — love in all its forms is equally beautiful.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine an artful, thoughtful approach with a calming, collaborative presence. I guide people with meaningful prompts rather than forcing poses, so we can capture natural, organic moments that reflect who they truly are. My focus is always on connection, authenticity, and telling your story in a way that will hold its magic for years to come.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I actually don’t listen to podcasts or often read about photography, but I enjoy watching videos of others at work and communicating in photography groups. You’d be surprised by how much you can learn from others when they’re not even actively trying to teach you anything.
