Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Croom and Erin Estes. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Erin and Casey met four years ago when Casey started teaching at the same school as Erin. After they ran into each other on a few nights out, they quickly discovered they had a common interest… drinking. After a few years of friendship, the two would get asked frequently to give suggestions of places to go and things to do in The Springs. When March 2020 hit Erin and Casey spent most of quarantine together teaching remotely, making TikToks, and really leaning into supporting the local businesses in Colorado Springs. As they would post on their own social media, they would have people inquire about where they were and ask that they start their own “recommendation page.” One of those random nice weather days in February, Erin got a “pick six” beer pack from the grocery store and after a little liquid courage Drunk Bitches in The Springs was formed. At first, the page was just a fun outlet for Erin and Casey to post their favorite places to eat and drink in COS. The page gained some traction after the two shared their 2021 Colorado Springs Restaurant Week experience and it’s been growing ever since. The goal of Drunk Bitches in the Springs is to share the local Colorado Springs food and drink experience with long-time locals, first-time visitors, and everyone in between. Casey and Erin are firm believers that COS has some of the best restaurants, bars, breweries, and coffee shops around and they just want to share the fun with everyone. If you follow along, you may even be able to get a first-hand look into some of their drunken escapades as they sometimes share their thoughts after a night out.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest obstacles Erin and Casey have faced with Drunk Bitches in The Springs has been finding time to balance work and play. Working full-time as teachers during a pandemic has been really taxing on the duo. When it’s time to blow off some steam on the weekends it can be a bit daunting to also feel the need to get content and stay relevant. They both acknowledge how fortunate they are to be able to have Drunk Bitches in the Springs, but it would be a lie to say the demand and pressures of running and “influencing” account don’t become overwhelming at times.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Drunk Bitches in the Springs exists to provide people in the Colorado Springs area with the most up-to-date, honest recommendations of local restaurants and bars.
DBITS specializes in sharing their experiences and favorite places to drink in, and around Colorado Springs.
Casey and Erin are known for providing recommendations but also being very “real” on their social media and stories. They are two individuals that enjoy a full social life and are excited to share that in a very approachable way with others!
Drunk Bitches in the Springs is different from other food bloggers in the sense that their goal is simply to share their fun adventures around Colorado Springs and hope people want to join. Casey and Erin are just like every other professional in the Springs. They have full-time jobs aside from DBITS and enjoy a drink or two here and there. In the food blogger community, they are known as the funny drunk girls that don’t take this gig too seriously.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Because Drunk Bitches in the Springs isn’t Casey and Erin’s source of income, they can be supported by simply giving them a follow! One day, they hope to expand and have “Drunk Bitches in (insert city here)” in cities all over the country, but for now they just do this for fun and to give back to their local community.
