Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelle Johnson. She and her team shared their story with us below:
Chelle is a first-generation college graduate who grew up with limiting beliefs, fear, and dysfunction. Through faith, resilience, grit, and determination, she achieved executive leadership roles in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources at Fortune 50 companies including Comcast, Lockheed Martin, Quest Diagnostics, and Honeywell.
She has lived and worked in Asia and Latin America, acquired her MBA, and speaks Spanish and English. She now helps SMBs through Fractional Talent Strategies and Retained Recruitment. She is also an Executive Career Coach that guides high achievers and diverse allies to discover and amplify their strengths and purpose and realize abundance in their careers and lives.
Chelle founded the non-profit Colorado Career Connectors in March 2021 and has helped over 1,700 job seekers and professionals with career development content and presentations. Chelle was chosen as a cohort member for the 2022 Colorado Inclusive Economy program and participated in the Denver Scale Up Network through the City of Denver. Chelle has presented at Denver Startup Week, the West Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and national women’s conferences.
Chelle is happily married to her husband Bryan and is a mom to Megan (11) and Norah (15). In her free time, she enjoys teaching Zumba, skiing, hiking, reading, and traveling.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, not at all. Being an entrepreneur is hard. I have had to put faith over fear.
Moving from a corporate environment with a stable income and benefits is not easy. Growing a business during Covid, and in a talent market that has had unprecedented change has required resilience and grit.
I’m very lucky to have found other amazing women entrepreneurs and coaches who have cheered me on, lifted me up when I doubted myself, and provided wisdom and advice to help me make the right decisions for my business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Deep relationships and extraordinary results are the art and soul of my business.
I am a global HR executive and industry insider. A former corporate talent acquisition director. A connector and change-maker. A heart-centered, soul-inspired global citizen. A diversity, equity, inclusion ally.
I believe engaging with my clients authentically and transparently is the best way to positively influence outcomes. Unleashing the incredible potential that lies within every human being is what gets me up in the morning. I absolutely love what I do.
I have taken 80+ people through the Positive Intelligence program, and have seen amazing pivots and transformations in many of my clients. Most of my Executive Career Coaching clients find their roles through the hidden job market, and as a “Master Connector” it’s my pleasure to introduce great people to other great people.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that there are so many resources, groups, and organizations for women entrepreneurs. Groups like SecondAct Women, the Dames, Kami Guildner Coaching, Women’s Leadership Foundation, Corporate Board Bound, SistahBiz, New Community Transformation Fund, Latina Lideres y Emprendedoras, and many many more.
I love, and am so grateful for, how helpful and supportive other consultants and leaders have been. It’s part of the reason we moved to Denver from Phoenix in 2016.
I do not like the diversity ratios. I wish there was more diversity and inclusion in our city and state, and that all communities made this a priority.
