Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl Frye.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I went to beauty school when I was 15 years old, knowing I loved it and had a passion for the world of beauty… after doing 900 hours, but still being in high school I did not finish to receive my certificates.
I became a young mother and put my education on hold to raise my children. As I grew older and was a military wife that moved regularly, I went into the restaurant world managing and helping restaurants across the United States to become successful. After missing, many holidays, birthdays, and special events over 30 years, covid hit us, and being the face of the companies decided to perform cosmetic surgery when I turned 50. I did my homework, to find a great doctor. I was in perfect health and I had a five-star doctor out in Boston.
During the surgery, I almost died. My recovery was a long painful one physically and emotionally. Damage damage was significant to my face. My vocal cords were damaged for many months and I also had nerve damage that didn’t heal for over a year I couldn’t move the right side of my face. Which included smiling, talking properly, or eating or drinking without spilling down my shirt. I was embarrassed and mortified that I had done this for vanity.
And when I realized how many modalities there are out there in our beautiful world that do not include surgery, I decided to rethink where my passions lay. The world of beauty was calling me back!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was not a smooth road. I gave up a career that was financially stable in my 50s. so I’m sure there was a hardship for my family. The restaurant business was what I knew how to do successfully with my eyes shut. I was good at it! It was rewarding in so many ways… especially the hospitality piece of it. But I felt I was missing a part of me!
I wanted to connect with people on a one-on-one basis, where I could help people and make a difference in their lives, especially with aging. Has it been an emotional road where of course I had my insecurities about moving to a state that I had not been in for many many years and trying to open a business of my own with very few people, knowing who I am or what I do or where does my passion lie. I was scared to tell my story at first I thought I would be judged. There’s nothing worse than people who know you or don’t know judging you.
I’ve realized that sharing my story being compassionate to others, and having empathy for what other people go through can be healing at so many levels. Being in alignment, and being true to yourself, even helps us spiritually which I found fascinating.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Going my whole life as an employee, making it to the top as a general manager for many restaurants, I decided to leap, even with fears and insecurities, I knew my gift for helping others with skincare had to take a priority. I am most proud of women and individuals who open up to me about insecurities with their skin that they can’t hide on their chest or their face.
I am most proud that I can help in a kind, empathetic way to teach them how to take care of themselves, and their skin, but it ends up going so much farther than that it ends up becoming healing of insecurities, with acceptance and relaxation, and a sense of excepting who we are and loving ourselves, regardless of what we see in a mirror!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I do feel extremely lucky and blessed that there are so many women around me in Colorado who are open enough, comfortable enough, and feel safe to share their stories about their insecurities and their desires inspires me… it gives me the opportunity to help them so they can move forward with making educational safe changes.
Giving ourselves love and self-care and accepting ourselves for who we are and how we look! I am incredibly grateful for my husband’s career and the persistence he’s had in helping make my dreams come true to connect and heal people! Whether that be wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne, toning, tightening, and lifting the skin that gravity takes hold of. The best compliment is really, just seeing results! I am honest, hard-working, and result-driven with grace!
