Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Herrera.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been a nature kid. I remember sitting in elementary school, staring out the window and daydreaming about being outside instead of stuck in class. During softball, I earned the nickname “extreme outfielder” because I was too busy marveling at a ladybug to catch the ball. Even now, I think that description still suits me—I’ve always been drawn to exploring life’s small wonders.
Dandelions have been a constant inspiration to me. They’re some of the most resilient plants I know—able to thrive even in the harshest conditions, breaking through asphalt to find the sun. In many ways, I see myself in them. Life has thrown me more than my share of challenges, but like the dandelion, I’ve learned to grow wherever I’m planted, no matter how tough the ground.
One of the most defining moments of my journey came in 2009, during the birth of my first child, my son. In those moments, my heart stopped, and I was gone for several minutes. When I came back, it felt like I had touched something far beyond myself—a deeper connection to intuition, healing, and the unseen. It was as though I had found a part of myself I didn’t know was missing. That experience set me on the path to discovering my gifts as a psychic medium and intuitive healer, offering comfort and guidance to others.
Years later, in 2015, I decided to formally pursue my passion for nature. I enrolled in a course to become a clinical herbalist and aromatherapist, starting the program just after I learned I was pregnant with my daughter. I carried her with me every step of the way, graduating just before she was born and even bringing her along during my apprenticeship. That chapter of my life taught me not only perseverance but the incredible bond between motherhood and growth.
My love of nature and storytelling also led me to write a children’s book about dandelions, called “Dandelion Says…” inspired by that very resilience. Through the book, I wanted to share the beauty and strength of these little flowers that so many people overlook—just as I’ve learned to embrace the strength within myself.
Now, whether I’m crafting natural remedies, writing stories, or helping others through intuitive healing and mediumship, my work is about bringing people comfort, clarity, and connection. It’s about embracing the beauty in nature, even the beauty in death; and the power of intuition—two forces that have shaped my career and my life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every road has its potholes, and mine hasn’t been without its challenges. Growing up wasn’t easy, but I’ve come to believe there’s beauty to be found even in the hardest moments. Life has thrown me more than my share of hurdles, but one of my biggest challenges has been navigating the loss of my health and mobility.
At 34, I was diagnosed with a rare connective tissue disease, and at 36, with congenital hip dysplasia. These diagnoses led to three intense surgeries to correct the dysplasia, but I still rely on my wheelchair part-time. Beyond the physical challenges, it’s been a journey of learning to respect my limits—a skill that doesn’t always come naturally to someone with big dreams and ambitions. I’ve been fortunate to have a strong support system, friends who remind me to rest when I need it, and the grace to find balance between drive and self-care.
Through the darkest times, my faith has been my anchor, carrying me through moments when the weight of life felt too heavy to bear. That pain—the trials and struggles—has taught me to seek and cherish beauty in everything. It’s part of the reason I’m so drawn to dandelions. They thrive even in the harshest conditions, breaking through asphalt to reach the light. In many ways, I see myself in them, finding resilience and strength even in unexpected places.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I help people feel better—whether it’s through intuitive guidance, natural remedies, or simply sharing a meaningful conversation. What sets me apart is my commitment to transparency. I offer a 100% money-back guarantee: if you don’t get what you need from me, you don’t pay. I’m upfront about what I can and can’t do, and I approach each client with honesty and respect.
What I’m most proud of is how people seem to genuinely enjoy the time we spend together. It never feels like work; it feels like making a new friend. I love teaching others, especially kids. Writing a children’s book about dandelions—a flower I’ve always admired for its resilience—has been one of my proudest accomplishments. My kids were my first critics, and their seal of approval meant the world to me. In fact, hearing them say that what I do is “kinda cool” feels like the ultimate triumph.
I don’t know exactly what I’m known for, but I do know people don’t tend to forget me. Whether that’s a good or a bad thing, I couldn’t say—but I’m just doing my best, and so far, it seems to be working!
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is ensuring that my work aligns with my faith. I’m not religious in the traditional sense—I don’t go to church—but I walk with my Creator in everything I do. That connection guides me to approach life with love, compassion, and purpose.
Creator has given me so much, and the least I can do is walk the path that was made for me. All I have to give to God is everything I’ll ever be or do, and I try to honor that by living heart first and pouring intention into every interaction.
I want the people I work with to walk away feeling that safe spaces still exist, that no matter their story, they are always worthy of my time. At the end of the day, I just want to do as much good as I can while I’m here. Whether it’s bringing comfort to someone in pain, sharing knowledge, or simply reminding someone of their inherent value, my faith drives me to leave the world a softer, kinder place.
