Today we’d like to introduce you to Dat Gurl Secrete.

Hi Gurl, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started my career as a musical artist in 2016. I was always interested in dance and music as a hobby; however, as time progressed, I decided to make my passion my career.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been many challenges throughout my musical journey. Financial obstacles, the Covid-19 pandemic, and other social-economic issues have created a variety of metaphorical “bumps” in the road to success.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently, I am a musical artist who enjoys writing, producing, and recording various genres of music. While my main focus is rap, I enjoy exploring a wide range of musical styles and expressions. One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is the creation of my nonprofit organization, “The Book Tour”. The Book Tour promotes reading and comprehension initiatives by providing free books and reading material to youth grades K-12.

Who else deserves credit for your story?
One of my main mentors has been a local politician that I have known for over 15 years. This individual has taught me so many useful principles and skills in my personal and professional life. Learning simple concepts such as my self-worth, professional worth, and the importance of integrity are just a few ideas I have learned from my mentor.
