Today we’d like to introduce you to Dream (Dreamscape ASMR).
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making ASMR content back in March of 2021. I had been watching ASMR videos daily for a few months before I decided to try making one myself. I began my journey by purchasing a Blue Yeti microphone and plugging it into my iPhone to create simple videos in my bedroom. In May of 2021, I had a video go viral on TikTok that amassed over six million views which jump-started my full-time career as an ASMR creator. Over time, I realized I enjoyed making “role-play” ASMR content. I loved how this certain category of ASMR was able to emulate a real-life interaction with another person. Once I made this realization, I taught myself how to act, direct, and produce the type of content I envisioned in my mind.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a content creator is like riding a roller coaster. Some weeks are amazing and very fulfilling and others are incredibly stressful and disheartening. You have to battle algorithms, creative burnout, and being the subject of thousands of people’s opinions amongst other things–however– not a second goes by that I’m not incredibly grateful that I get to do this full-time. The biggest struggle I’ve dealt with is pushing through my own creative burnout and stress. There have been months where I felt very stuck and unsure about what direction to take my content and as result– I saw little growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create fantasy-themed, cinematic role-play ASMR videos. You, the viewer, are the protagonist in the short films I create. The purpose of these videos is for relaxation and comfort, so I typically speak or whisper in a soft, gentle voice. My goal for each one of my videos is to make the viewer feel important and special.
What does success mean to you?
I think success is defined by seeing growth in the quality of content or work one creates or does. If I can produce a better video today than I could a year ago, that it success to me!
