Conversations with Dusty Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dusty Jenkins.

Hi Dusty, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Dusty Jenkins, and I’m the Conversation Architect at QAV. QAV stands for Quality Audio Video, and we will celebrate the 15th year of business on July 18th, 2021. The facility was awarded best demo space globally for design-focused technology solutions in commercial and residential environments.

QAV’s motto is: “Experience the Difference,” and that motto is true for how I live everyday life as well. I am the type of person that wants to help others and truly make a difference with everything I do.

Quality Audio Video is a design-focused, home automation boutique that offers personalized no-pitch tours to qualified families and office teams as they allow their guests to experience today’s technology. It’s like walking into someone’s beautiful home here at QAV, and we always wanted it to feel that way. But, so often, our guests say it’s like a Willa Wonka Technology Factory or a Tony Stark facility.

Tyson Rabani, the CEO and Founder, started his days at Circuit City as a sales rep; he then went on to Soundtrack, which eventually became Ultimate Electronics. Tyson has always been fascinated with the possibilities technology brings to people’s lives. Tyson enjoys looking back to remember his dad’s first surround sound system and the memories he made sitting with his dad as a child while listening to music. Those core memories and experiences through technology sent Tyson on his path to starting QAV and set the foundation for what the company is known for today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every opportunity in life has challenges. Getting to where we are today certainly hasn’t been easy but simply finding the suitable space for the showroom was a challenge in itself. When we finally found the facility, we had to have the vision to

look past a wrecked and trashed multi-unit commercial space and have the foresight to see the beautifully designed showroom that it is known for today.

When building a business or advancing to the next stage in business, not everyone can see the vision from the beginning, and so, many people said that what we wanted to accomplish could not be done.

Looking back, and this may also be true for many other business owners, our minds can be one of the biggest challenges to overcome. We had to arrive at a mental space where we could drown out the noise and just keep moving forward one day at a time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m so intrigued by stories and how our stories intersect like a vast web of connections. Through these stories, it allows us to perform at our best and help make this world a better place by bringing convenience and automation to people’s everyday lives while significantly reducing and, in most cases, remove all the headaches around technology in homes and offices based in Colorado.

Our specialty is design-focussed, art-integrated technology solutions for homes and businesses. The showroom certainly helps set us apart from others, but I genuinely think it’s the people behind our brand that sets us apart from everyone else. We are always learning the newest strategies and continually improving on the experience.

There are many ways to build a showroom and provide solutions for luxury homes and commercial spaces, but simply put; nobody does it like us. It’s so fun to see the reactions of our guests as they see what’s possible. You simply can’t explore and experience technology the way we’re presenting it anywhere else in the world.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m always finding my way into a new book, but one of my recent favorites was “Built to Serve” by Evan Carmichael. My favorite podcast is Elevation with

Steven Furtick. My favorite apps would be Google Suite, Spotify, Youtube, Instagram, Clubhouse, Suitedash, and Crestron Home.
