Conversations with Grant Damare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grant Damare.

Grant, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started recording when I was 19 right out of high school, I already started with taking pictures prior to that for about a year so recording for me wasn’t that difficult. I started going to many top events through out the country to get my name out, like the Jordan Brand classic, Metro Classic, Elite 24, City of Palms and many more. I ended up moving to Denver about over a year now, and when I first moved here I started working with Rangeview High school basketball team, and freelanced football and now I ended up with me working with Rangeview full time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, some days I had to edit and I just didn’t want to or I wasn’t getting booked, but I managed to always find away, I went out and shots games I want getting payed and ended up getting payed, I went to tournaments, snuck into places just so I could get content and possibly get payed. So no the road has not been smooth the whole way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love making stories, I am currently working on a Documentary and I want to continue to make long form content like that, something with (meaning). But, I would definitely say this documentary is the most proud I have been making something in a very long time.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Creativity & emotions I feel like I work my best when I have a lot of emotion for something, or I’m very (passionate) about something. And My creativity is a strong suit of mine in my opinion I feel like my shot selection, colors grade, camera movement, editing style just in very unique.
