Today we’d like to introduce you to Indigo Jones. Them and their team share their story with us below:
I grew up in a musical home, my whole family is a mixture of vocalists and instrumentalists. Random singing contests and jam sessions would randomly break out at home all the time. All those fun sessions with the fam eventually paid off when I landed a record deal with Signature Music Group after being heard singing in a barbershop. From there I was off to the races, I’ve recorded and released 2 studio albums and a plethora of singles. I also have more on the way
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been worth it; all the twists and turns that come with being an R&B artist: recording music vs performing, the challenge of your worth vs the market price, finding a way to cut through to be seen and heard and maintain that position. These challenges along with others have only strengthened my conviction and passion. The need to prove myself right keeps me moving forward.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I write songs about everything under the umbrella of love: finding it, making it, and losing it. What sets me apart, I suppose, is my respect for the art and craft of R&B.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is teaching myself how to swim at the tender age of 4 1/2 years young.
