Conversations with Jae Wes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jae Wes.

Hi Jae, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started with studying cello and classical music when I was in grade school. I carried my studies all the way up until high school when I was about 16. During my senior year, I actually wanted to quit playing Cello and focus on Singing and writing music. I was in musical theater that time and was also writing music with my people back then. I found a deep passion in writing and creating music with voice and cello more than playing classical music. When I graduated I didn’t get accepted into my school of choice so decided to head to Canada to study more on writing and performing. When I came home in 2020 I changed my character and started pushing and promoting myself as an Artist and Business in 2021. Whether that’s playing my cello in public vicinities or Performing and singing for others in the crowd at top stages. In the past year, I was given the privilege to perform and be flown out for many shows and events. Scottsdale & Miami to name a few. I now work full time as an artist and I’m happy it can be my career at 21. I Recently dropped my first project “Sincerely Yours,” being able to work with some great artists like Trev Rich, RayReed and Deric and open for great artists like Polo G, Mario and Autumn! I plan to go even harder second half of the year.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only struggle right now is with myself. Life is what you make it and sometimes you just get burnt out, unmotivated, so discipline needs to be put in practice more with what all I wish to accomplish. There was never really an initial struggle external from my own self-sabotage.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m actually a teacher as well over at Littleton School of Music. This isn’t my main profession but it’s refreshing to teach others the same love of music I have to them. You can find me all over playing in Malls, Resorts, or even just the downtown area all around Colorado. I’m known for being the light skin who sings and plays cello. I’m most proud of my first ever project “Sincerely Yours,” because it shows how far I’ve come and still need to grow as an artist. Playing Cello and mixing it with RnB, PluggnB, HipHop, Lofi, Etc sets me apart from others all over the world not just in Denver. The way I create and construct music alone is versatile and beautiful enough to capture any listener’s attention.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Stream “Sincerely Yours,” On All Platforms Now, New Music Video “Woman” is one of my proudest songs and moments in my life. I never organized and planned something so well put together and beautiful before.

I actually really used to hate cello.

I’m the best-sounding artist in Denver Colorado you can count on that.
