Conversations with Janis & Cody Wille

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janis & Cody Wille. They and their team shared their story with us below:

All because two people fell in LOVE! Boho Disco LLC was co-created by Cody & Janis Wille by combining their passions during the planning of their wedding. Bohemian picnics and Disco Dance Parties. Cody and Janis’s vision for Boho Disco is to create more FUN, CELEBRATION, CONNECTION, BEAUTY, and LOVE in our community!

Janis is a lover of creativity and sacred spaces. She has a private practice as an Expressive Arts Therapist in Louisville, CO. She specializes in empowering others to connect with art as a healing tool. To cope with the stress of being the wedding planner for Cody and her wedding, Janis designed and facilitated three Bohemian picnics. One for her Bridesmaids Luncheon, another for their rehearsal dinner hosting 60 guests, and a couple of Boho lounge spaces located throughout the wedding venue. Cody has been making music for 24 years and has performed all over the United States, including at Red Rocks in 2013. His more recent passion for engineering has led him to creative projects such as building smart toys, robots, escape rooms, and live interactive scenes for Disney. Cody’s favorite music to make is a mix of Electronic + Funk. Cody combined his passions for music and engineering and created the LED Light Up Disco Dance floor for Janis and his wedding.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting any new business takes patience and determination. Since both Janis and Cody have additional full-time jobs, it has been challenging to be consistent with networking and marketing for Boho Disco.

Despite not having enough time, Boho Disco is starting to become known in our community. In the last month, we booked two events. An 80s-themed dance party using our LED light-up dance floor and DJ Goodie at the Superior Community Center AND a bohemian picnic proposal at City Park in Denver by the lake.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Cody and Janis are both creatives and what sets Boho Disco apart is their intention of starting this business. The original intention was to offer the community the fun and connection that they experienced at their wedding due to the bohemian picnics and disco dance party.

Now they have added to their intention. Cody and Janis are expecting their first baby on January 30th, 2024. So now they are adding the intention that all Boho Disco proceeds will be saved for their future daughter’s creative explorations such as dance, art, music, or whatever creative outlet she is most interested in.

What makes you happy?
Cody and Janis are the happiest when they are spending quality time with each other, their two dogs Electra and Phoebe, or with friends and family. They also love nature, traveling, and the arts! A recent moment that created happiness was when Cody and Janis went swimming at their local gym, a favorite activity now that Janis is pregnant.

Cody started making whale sounds underneath the water as a way to connect with the baby. Lots of laughter ensued. Another recent happy moment was when many of their friends and family came to celebrate the gender reveal by watching a resin dragon egg change color. Many guests dressed up in fantasy costumes, including Cody in his Unicorn costume. Being quirky and laughing with our friends makes us happy!
