Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Hanna
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The groundwork for Drone Wash™ began in October 2023, with the company officially accepting work in March 2024. In January 2024, our team traveled to Florida for specialized training with a drone cleaning company. The first quarter of 2024 was dedicated to gaining hands-on experience in Denver, cleaning various structures and perfecting our techniques.
Fast forward to today, we are in talks with major commercial real estate companies, government entities, and some of the largest window cleaning companies in the state. We’ve nearly perfected the art of using drones to clean windows. We’ve partnered with one of the most experienced automatic car wash manufacturers in the country, which has helped us fast-track our spray components, cleaning solutions, and techniques. Additionally, we are collaborating with one of the largest commercial-grade filter manufacturers to innovate our water cleaning process. We are looking forward to a massive end of 2023 and expect to be very busy come spring 2024.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our new venture didn’t come without its fair share of challenges. Growing up in Aurora, I was well aware of the difficulties posed by Colorado’s harsh climate and conditions. Early on we identified window cleaning as our target service due to the state’s lack of mildew and organic buildup, common in coastal areas.
As we continued to research drone window cleaning we discovered that public opinion on drone window cleaning was mixed, with debates about its quality frequently surfacing online. It didn’t look like any company really perfected the art of window cleaning with a drone.
Adding to our concerns were Colorado’s wind, dryness, brutal sunshine, and high altitude, making it likely one of the toughest markets to operate a drone in.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Drone Wash, we specialize in drone window cleaning, but our expertise extends beyond that. We handle a wide range of services, including facade cleaning and drone pressure washing. Additionally, we’ve partnered with a traditional cleaning company to cover ground-based pressure washing, graffiti removal, and window restoration. This comprehensive approach allows us to provide a full spectrum of cleaning services to our clients.
We are best known for our work cleaning the FlyteCo Tower at the old Stapleton Air Traffic Control Tower, which may soon be designated as a historic landmark. This project was featured on many local news outlets including Fox31, The Denver Post, and Denverite. This project exemplified our capability to clean heavily soiled surfaces at high altitude and our ability to tackle unique and challenging cleaning tasks.
What we’re most proud of is our “drone-first” mentality. We hire only the best drone pilots and our collaborations with cleaning specialists and manufacturers has caught us up to speed on best cleaning techniques and equipment. As a dedicated drone company, we bring more experience, better safety, and a deeper understanding of drone capabilities than a traditional cleaning company that occasionally uses drones.
Our laser focus on drone cleaning is what truly sets us apart from other cleaning companies that are just beginning to explore the potential of drone technology. All we do is drone cleaning, and we’re passionate about it.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was really into technology, music, and art. I spent a lot of time playing games and creating music. I was definitely a loner; I didn’t quite fit in with any specific group. I was happiest being isolated and perfecting things that I was passionate about. My interests have always been in history, technology, and music.
