Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Nguyen, Hung Le, Randy Cao

Hi Jay Nguyen, Hung Le, Randy Cao, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We are Jay, Hung, and Randy. We met in a small town in Lafayette, LA, and have known each other for over 15 years. Early on, we dreamed of opening a food truck together. We started developing a concept and jumped into the kitchen to create a menu. But we were very young then and couldn’t follow through with our ambitions. It might have been our fear of taking risks or simply adulthood getting in the way. Eventually, we moved to different parts of the country and pursued separate paths.

Fast forward to 2022, a lightbulb went off, and a new concept came to mind: shrimp burgers. It took us two years to perfect our recipe, but the feat of taking risks wasn’t as daunting anymore because we believed in ourselves and what we had to offer. When we all ended up living in the same city again, Shrimp Daddy Burgers was born. We offer something innovative and delicious that many people have never heard of before: a gourmet 100% shrimp patty elevated with various toppings nestled in a buttery-toasted brioche bun! Many people warned us not to go into business as friends, but we knew we worked well as a team, each of us bringing unique skills that make Shrimp Daddy Burgers a success.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Just like any new business venture, it hasn’t been smooth sailing since we’ve started Shrimp Daddy Burgers. The most difficult part of our journey was taking the initial risk. Starting our business was daunting for the three of us. However, once we stopped viewing it as a risk and saw it as a leap of faith, we were able to push forward and reach where we are today. The most difficult part is behind us now that we’ve accomplished that first step. We now see the obstacles we encounter as part of the process and actually enjoy finding solutions to the problems that arise, as it allows us to see growth in our business.

If we could share one piece of advice for upcoming entrepreneurs and dreamers, it would be to take that leap of faith and see where it takes you. You will never know what happens until you do it.

The three of us are your average daily Joes. We all hold various professions ranging from Chef, Sales Representative, and even an Engineer among us. These professions have provided each of us individually with our own personality and skillset to be able to work well as a team in order to grow Shrimp Daddy Burgers to what we envision. We are most proud of being able to now call ourselves business owners. We offer gourmet shrimp burgers, made from scratch with love, which is a novelty among burgers. Many people who have tried us out have said they’ve never heard of shrimp burgers and end up loving it! One thing that sets us apart from others is that the Shrimp Daddies are very loveable. We’ve come to learn that if people love us all, the food just tastes even better.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What we love most about Denver is the community. Since starting Shrimp Daddy Burgers, we have met so many entrepreneurs and business owners alike that have welcomed us with open arms. They openly share their knowledge and wisdom to help us succeed. On the other end of the spectrum, we’ve met people who truly love and support what we offer. We truly appreciate all the help that has been given to us by the this amazing community. We would truly like to say Thank You to all our family, friends, and the Denver community for supporting us on this adventure. What we like least about our city would have to be the downfall of downtown since Covid. We do understand that it is currently under construction, and the city is working to bring downtown Denver back to life in the near future. You will definitely be spotting the Shrimp Daddy food truck downtown when this happens!
