Conversations with Jose Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Perez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well I’ve had my share of ups & downs. I would like to start 2022, I was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer, while battling this giant I also was paralyzed. It took me a year to get back on my feet, from a wheelchair, to a walker, to a Cain & now being able to walk again. Through this whole I’ve stayed busy working on my music, shooting videos & also performing. I also started a podcast called walking to the moon with the TrillAmigos. My legs are still not a hundred percent, but I’m staying consistent & never giving up

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Mom passed at the age of 9 my father abandoned me twice in my life, cancer & chemotherapy was a battle I never expected but I now am in remission. While being a parentless parent I’ve also stepped up to take in two of my cousins kids not allowing them to become part of the system. So being a part time father to them was a challenge

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a artist I write my own music, I also started up a podcast. I’m know for Representing my city & for putting people on. I’m most proud of my kids. My heart & my actions is what set me apart from others

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To be patient & know everything can be taken away from one day to the next.
