Conversations with Lauren Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Hill.

Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Louisiana and moved to Los Angeles at 24. I  was young, wild, and free and just let the wind guide me  there. After being in Los Angeles and having the time of my  life for three years I moved back home to be near family.  Without them I felt like a part of me was missing, I still  work in both places but mostly in New Orleans because that  is where my home base is. Backing up to the beginning of  my career…

I began working on film sets at 19 years old and through  there met a lot of people who inspired me. The film  industry is a bunch of creatives and I am so grateful I  was able to be a part of it for so long. I just finished working  on Your Honor Season 2 in New Orleans. If you haven’t  watched it, check It out! I have been working as a freelance  photographer and a freelance Costumer/Designer for 10  years. They are both a huge part of who I am.

As far as my photography career, I mostly shoot  commercials and editorials but have just recently begun  getting into weddings/family/and couple shoots. I have  such an amazing community and support system. I  wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Travel also has  helped me become the person I am and has inspired a lot of  personal projects.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every job has its challenges. When working so closely with  large groups of people there is always something that  doesn’t align with you. It has taken a lot of time to learn  how to ground and stay true to myself but also be  respectful of how others view things and handle situations.

Not everyone does things as you do. Being a team player is  a big part of the film and photography world. Starting so  young I feel I have changed many times and have lived so  many lives but I love them all and they are all very close to  my heart. They have all  taught me so many things.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a traveling customer on TV/Film and I am also a photographer!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see them only growing and getting bigger. The film Industry has slowed down tremendously here so I have been focusing on my photography business and I am so happy with where it is going. If you’d like to follow along my Instagram and website are below! 🙂
