Conversations with Lindsey Girardot Teets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Girardot Teets.

Lindsey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a 5th generation native to CO, I grew up here. I went to LA after high school to attend USC but mainly to focus on my acting career in Hollywood with my current agent. I was there for 12 years pursuing a professional acting, dancing, and singing career, I then started teaching Reformer Pilates for 8 years and started teaching Pure Barre at the very first studio in LA. I taught there for 3 months.

I had success in my career but like many, I hit the “Hollywood Wall” and moved home in 2009 to get away from the concrete jungle. That is when I opened my first Pure Barre studio in Cherry Creek, the very first Pure Barre in CO, and the first franchise nationwide.

I opened three studios within the first year and half. Since then, I have moved one, sold two, and opened another. I now own my very first studio and my last studio I opened, Cherry Creek & Union Station. It has been an absolute battlefield owning boutique fitness studios during COVID and I am still trying to recover. The Universe has kept here, in my spot so I am taking lemons and currently making some strong lemonade!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a relatively smooth road until COVID hit but in general, hardships are staffing, negative clients that still come to class every day for years, down season in CO when many like to be outside.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am best known for my classes. I teach Pure BArre from my heart and soul and can’t help myself from getting lost in every single class that I teach by the idea that our mind tends to hold back our body from pushing its limits. These ideas trickle into our minds daily in other ways which can hinder our success – it’s a great reminder to always push ourselves in body and mind!

How do you think about luck?
Luck has reared its beautiful head many times throughout my Pure Barre journey but I chalk it up to hard work, consistent work ethic, and tenacity.
