Today we’d like to introduce you to Liya Flage.
Hi Liya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I spent nine years in the ER — first as a nurse and then as a Nurse Practitioner. The work was intense and meaningful, but also extremely stressful. I was in the ER during the height of COVID, and it became very clear how hard it is to provide the level of care patients deserve in our current system. There’s constant pressure to work within hospital demands and insurance requirements, with very little time to slow down, educate, or build real relationships.
I knew I wanted to create a way to practice differently. I wanted to actually know my patients, support them long-term, and help them feel confident in their skin in a way that honors who they are. I also wanted to build a positive environment for my team of providers — a place where passions are nurtured and individuals feel supported and encouraged to grow and hone their talents. Ultimately, that is what leads to excellent care.
That’s why Nevé exists — to care for our community in a way that’s authentic and rooted in empowerment, real connection, and ethical, holistic care.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. I didn’t have formal training in business when we started, so there was a steep learning curve. There were financial decisions, hiring, systems, and compliance — all things I had to learn as I went. Every challenge has been an opportunity to grow, refine how we operate, and get clearer on our values. We prioritize safety, real results, and true relationships. When our values stay clear, our decisions do too — and patients feel that clarity.
The risk is real, especially compared to the stability of hospital work. But the fulfillment is hard to describe. The relationships with our patients, the trust we build, and being part of their confidence and well-being — that’s what makes everything worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Nevé is a medical aesthetics and wellness practice rooted in a long-term approach to skin health and aging. We specialize in medical-grade skincare, injectables, and advanced skin treatments — but what we’re most known for is the NEVÉ Framework, our approach that looks beyond trends to provide individualized, evidence-based, and holistic care. We prioritize harmony, longevity, and strategic treatment planning so your time and resources are used where they will create the greatest impact.
We don’t rush treatments or chase what’s new for the sake of being new. We take the time to educate, prioritize, and create a plan that feels realistic and sustainable. The goal is always confidence that looks like you — not a version of you that feels “done” or overworked.
What sets us apart is the relationship piece. We know our patients, and our patients know us. We build trust through consistency, honesty, and results that hold up over time. Skin health is a journey, and when it’s approached holistically, the outcomes can be truly transformative. I’m proud of the environment we’ve cultivated for both patients and our team — calm, supportive, and rooted in integrity.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson has been that people matter more than anything else. Skills can be taught, but culture, trust, and alignment have to be built. You can try to carry everything yourself, but real, sustainable success comes from investing in a team — supporting them, valuing them, and giving them space to grow. When the team is cared for, the patient experience and clinical outcomes always reflect that.
