Conversations with Megan, Kevin, & Alana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan, Kevin, & Alana. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Three years ago, we connected on a dating app tailored for polyamorous relationships. Alana and Kevin had been together for some time, and then Megan came into the mix.

Despite being new to the poly scene, things just clicked for us. Living in SoCal, our friends nudged us to share our experiences, so we started a TikTok. Surprisingly, people dug our candid insights into polyamory. This March, we shifted gears, moved to Colorado, and have kept the content coming.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For all of us, it was a journey of firsts. Alana was diving into her first relationship with a woman, while Megan, was in her first relationship with a man. As newcomers to polyamory, we naturally grappled with insecurities.

Staying transparent and genuinely honest with each other made the difference in overcoming these hurdles. When it comes to our social media, it’s not all roses. We get our fair share of negativity. Yet, we choose to respond with kindness and patience, recognizing that our relationship isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At the core, we are a polyamorous throuple who has carved out a unique niche in social media, particularly on platforms like TikTok and Instagram as “Camp Throuple”. Our mission? To spread positivity and give the world a more authentic representation of polyamory. While much of the polyamory content elsewhere leans heavily on being oversexualized, we aim to offer a more grounded portrayal. Put simply, we’re just three people deeply in love, sharing our life’s moments.

Our content strikes a balance between being informational and humorous, and it’s been a joy to see a supportive community form around us. This sense of connection and unity has sparked a fresh aspiration. Together, we’re venturing into the Colorado real estate scene. We’re optimistic that our distinctive relationship, coupled with a shared enthusiasm for guiding others to their dream homes, will shape us into an unparalleled force in the market: the first polyamorous real estate team.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Opening up about our polyamorous relationship, especially when it was a nascent chapter in our lives, was undoubtedly one of the most significant risks we took.

It wasn’t just about sharing it with the world but confronting the reality that close ones, people we’ve known for years, were in the dark about this aspect of our lives. We weren’t certain of the reactions we’d receive, but we took a collective breath and chose to lead with love. We believed in the authenticity of our bond and felt that sharing our story might offer others a fresh perspective or, at the very least, an understanding of an alternative way to love.

On a professional front, diving into the Colorado real estate market is our next big adventure, and it’s not devoid of risks. Switching careers and pioneering as a polyamorous real estate team in a traditionally conservative industry is a bold move. But just like with our relationship, we’re approaching this with optimism, passion, and a firm belief in our unique strengths.

In essence, we view risk not as a deterrent but as a compass. It often points to paths less trodden, and while they may be challenging, they’re also incredibly rewarding. Whether in love or business, we’ve found that when risks are taken with clarity, conviction, and a whole lot of heart, the journey becomes worth every step.
