Conversations with Moses Ramos – Espinoza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moses Ramos – Espinoza

Hi Moses, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Moses Ramos – Espinoza, I am an independent artist from Denver Colorado, I’m currently 17 years old and I have been making music for almost 3 years now. My story begins at five years old, From a young age, I always had a passion for music; as soon as I could hold a pencil I began to write poetry, it was my escape from reality. Eventually, at fourteen, I released my first song: a remix of my Uncle Gabriel’s track, “Frontline.” When I was fifteen, my parents, doing everything they could to keep me from the street life, had invested $500 into a home studio for my birthday. I spent all of my time teaching myself how to use the music program, FL Studio, writing, recording, mixing and mastering all of my own tracks in my bedroom.
Learning these skills helped me develop and advance my career as I became my own Producer, Engineer, Writer, and recording artist, truly embodying what it means to be “independent.” The first song I created and released on all platforms was titled “Dickies N Locs.” Over the years, I’ve focused on improving my skills, constantly pushing myself to elevate past each milestone. “2 Tha Hood,” featuring my biggest inspiration for music, C-Mob 765, is an example of my growth. Now, at 17 years old, I’m preparing to release a powerful catalog of music for the year, 2025. I’ve gotten to where I am today through hard work, determination, support from my friends, family, and people who believe in me, along with the desire for a better future for my family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the more prominent challenges I’ve had to face in my upbringing was growing up in poverty. I’ve witnessed my parents work hard to keep food on the table for me and my siblings, showing me the value of the hustle. Growing up in poverty has served as a reminder to me to remain humble and it has also led to a hunger for success. This hunger is like a fire that cannot be extinguished, and it burns through my music. Growing up in poverty, I experienced two different realities: one where I felt my dream was out of reach due to me being financially limited, and another that constantly reminded me that I have to fight to achieve the future I desire.
The gap between where l am and where want to be is the fuel for my craft. I overcame this challenge by changing my mindset, instead of finding ways to justify “getting by” or settling for less than what | deserve, I’ve developed a mindset where I cannot afford failure. I have to work with what I’ve got and hustle to make my dreams/goals happen: the same way my parents made it happen for me. This experience has instilled in me a drive for success that continues to keep me motivated in achieving my goals, regardless of the circumstances.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Music Producer, Engineer, writer, and recording artist, I specialize in songwriting and recording. I am most proud of the opportunities I’ve created for myself through the music I’ve created independently, and the progress I’ve made in only 3 years of creating music.
What sets me apart from others is my style, I am incredibly versatile with what I create and I pull many different inspirations from all types of music to create my own style. I’m old school but also a youngster, and I represent my Chicano roots through my craft. Ultimately l am authentic to myself, l create many different types of music because my art reflects me as a person, I don’t make music for plays, I make what I love, and anyone who relates to me will love it too. I am currently most focused on developing my craft and continuing to elevate my skill, I am taking every opportunity I possibly can to develop my career.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
My definition of success is living a life aligned with my values, expressing my passion for music, making a positive impact on other lives besides my own, and continually growing, evolving, and getting better every single day. To me, success is not about material wealth but internal wealth. It is about becoming the best version of myself intellectually, mentally, and spiritually.
My success is mastering life in every aspect, and achieving peace of mind through my craft. I want to change and save lives.
