Conversations with Nai’a Aplaca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nai’a Aplaca.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my Instagram three years ago. I thought it would be fun to share my looks. From there, I started a Youtube that is mostly travel based.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I won’t lie. There are many times I want to stop content creating. I am currently going through it right now. It’s important to take a break when you go through these kinds of obstacles. My struggle currently is if I should keep to fashion or switch to something else. I know that it will all work out but my advice is never to give up even if you feel like you want to.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Currently, my sole focus is on school. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s in Anthropology. I am known to get extremely excited about bones. I currently work as a bone lab assistant and as a research assistant. I am most proud of maintaining a 4.0 and being accepted into the National Honor Society. It is one of my proudest moments.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice is not to wait for an opportunity but to go after it. Express your passion, it will take you places. Just talking and expressing how much I love my work has gotten me a lot of opportunities I never thought I could have. Another word of advice. Don’t let others make you feel bad for doing what you love. If they are, then maybe it’s time to move on and find a group that will support you.
