Conversations with No Distractions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Copass (aka No Distractions).

Hi Logan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story began as a hyper active and creative child. Classrooms could never contain me, and I couldn’t keep focused. However, I did well as an academic so that’s where my creativity became a captive. No Distractions is an inner part of me that the world kept hidden in order to “succeed” systemically. I am now 29 years old and believe there’s no specified age or reason for all of us to share the art that is within. No Distractions is a project about internal development within one’s self and finding focus on your path in life through passion. I had started building my music platform slowly on SoundCloud then later showcasing it to friends and others at small events in the Denver Area, This led to local producers introducing me to venues that would give up and coming artists a platform. I saw this as a stepping block and was eager to grow. I have found so much acceptance and open arms in the local dance music community, unlike when I was the hyper active child coloring outside of the lines. My dedication and passion did not go unnoticed, as I am now set to perform at my first festival coming up this fall.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Does any journey with the self come without struggles? Like any introspective path we are faced with fluctuating rhythms of fluidity and rigidity. I would say one of the largest struggles for any artist, and something I dealt with at times, is imposter syndrome. Am I defined by my 9 to 5 or by creative work and expression? Currently I am not yet fully sustained by my art yet, though I put forth the effort as if I was. I hope to one day drop my corporate title and become No Distractions with no inhibitors. I want to inspire people to create and believe in their art.

From a business perspective a key struggle has been trying to figure out other ways to grab attention from a marketing sense that isn’t just music. Such as implementing different forms of media to post and grow on various social platforms. The process has been rather slow on that front but in 2024 have started to see some growth again.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Electronic Music Producer and DJ that dabbles in a mix of genres. While my primary sound consists of element from Trap, Future Bass, Wave, and Break beat, I will occasionally make house, hyperpop, and work with various local lyricists to produce Rap/Hip hop beats. When it comes to DJing I will play everything under the sun. I am most proud of my continuous growth over the years. It seems with every release there is a level up in production quality and a fine tuning of my sound. What sets me apart is my individual taste in all different forms of music. You can always hear a blend of styles within my songs, overlaid with some ethereal vocal chops that let you know this is a No Distractions tune.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
During my Childhood I grew up in South Africa for three years. I was able to have a lot of interactions with nature and the wildlife in such a beautiful part of the world. My favorite memory was having a connection with one of the game guides as we both shared a deep affinity towards all wildlife in general. Although not approved by my parents, he and I snuck out of the camp and decided to go for a short bush walk. During this time we turned a corner and out popped this giant white Rhino that we seemed to startle more than it did us. It was so close I could’ve reached out my hand and touched it. It slowly backed away, nibbled on some of the bush and calmly walked in the other direction. This time spent in nature and enjoying a lot of the Earth’s beauty as a child and teenager is what also attracts me to places like Colorado.
