Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Fila
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was out traveling the globe for about 2 years as a content creator. What I found in my travels is that I’m obsessed with seeing how humans live this thing we call “life” I believe we’re placed in this world, with very few rules. Humans are left to fill in the rest. We call them laws, culture, religion, language, values, etc.
When I was 20, my father also took his own life through an addiction cycle. (alcohol)
So when I came back to Denver I meshed those experiences. It wasn’t until we’d been hosting Dynamic Dinner for 6 months that I realized this.
We’d created a dinner experience around deeper questions, real connection, and didn’t have booze in the room.
My worlds had come together!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course not. Creating anything isn’t smooth. Plus we all have edges with creators – that’s why we constantly tear them down. It’s a part of our judgements.
I’ve spent 100+ hours throwing words at the wall to figure out how to say what we’re doing. It’s soooo simple, but yet so complex.
“How do I explain that it’s a dinner, but also way more than a dinner??”
“Who am I talking to?”
“Would this type of person enjoy the experience or not?”
“No, we’re not specifically about recovery, but people in recovery are more than welcome.”
The internal game of creation and entrepreneurship is the real dance. It shows me more and more who I am and what I’m about.
I’m also not alone or special. All of my fellow entrepreneurs out there face this to some extent.
I salute y’all!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What do I do?
You know when you walk into a room and think, “Oh s*&%, I have to be somebody different here”?
Through Dynamic Dinner, I create rooms where you don’t have to do that.
We remind you to be yourself. The truest version of you is the best version of you.
I also write (newsletter & video scripts), drink decaf and cacao when possible, and love to dance!
What do you specialize in?
– Human Connection & Psychology
– Storytelling
– Travel
– Internal Navigation (self-development of sorts)
– I majored in Math & Finance in a past life 😉
– Meditation (I’ve been practicing for 8+ years)
– Fitness (I played college football)
What are you known for?
I think I’m known for 2 things mainly:
1. Wearing monochromatic sweatsuits all winter long.
2. An energy that’s present, positive, and game ready.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of myself for continuing to show up. I’ve failed over and over again, but I’ve recently decided that I’m not going anywhere. Meaning, I will continue that path of creation. I’m choosing a life that’s relentlessly focused on bringing love over fear. That plays into my events (Dynamic Dinner), online presence (ryanfila.com), and my day to day life – like how I treat my partner and interact with the cashier at Conoco.
What sets you apart from others?
The way I show up and what I create is an empowered choice. I don’t have to do anything. I’m in complete control of where I spend my time, so if I’m spending it on an event, sipping coffee together, or giving you a hug – that’s exactly where I want to be.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The more time you ruminate on the perfect choice the longer it will take. Make mistakes. Listen to your internal guide. And choose.
