Conversations with Sandi Williams

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sandi Williams.

Sandi Williams

Hi Sandi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I love business in general, so I always knew I wanted to go the entrepreneur route eventually. I started my business in college in 2018 as just a side hustle/experiment, and then I started taking it more seriously, probably the year after.

Between that time and now, it’s definitely been a journey. I started, quit, rebranded, and started from scratch again plenty of times. I’ve honestly been trying to navigate having a brand, growing, and life all together.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Not at all. I started my business during a crucial time in my life. I didn’t have a lot of money or resources. I honestly had no idea what I was doing in the beginning.

I had to learn to do a lot of things myself when it came to business while also being a student. Once my brand started to gain momentum, the pandemic hit and changed everything. That was a rough time.

There were a lot of times when I wanted to give up and quit. (I actually did a few times). It’s really all about balance and resilience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
This question always stresses me out. In the past, I’ve always had a hard time identifying my work with a certain industry because I didn’t want to be stuck in a box. Sa’vage Gold will always be fashion and beauty however, the rebrand is definitely different from my past work.

Also, my upcoming projects and businesses are not related to anything similar. I’m proud of coming out of my comfort zone and not limiting my talents or interests. I’m excited to put out new collections, projects, and businesses moving forward.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Although I’ve done a lot myself when it comes to business, my support system is the reason I’m still here.

There have been plenty of times when I wanted to give up and stop business altogether, and my friends, family, and customers would motivate me. God has blessed me during this journey to meet and network with great people. I’m a big believer that even the small things play a role in my success.
