Conversations with Stacey Mead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Mead.

Stacey Mead

Hi Stacey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
There is a certain satisfaction that comes from placing yourself in the stillness of the Colorado Rockies. if you’ve ever experienced it, you know precisely what I’m talking about. This stillness creates a feeling. And that feeling is what I attempt to share with the help of my lens.

All Nature/Wildlife images you see on www.thewolfeyes.com website are captured, edited, and released by Wolf Eyes Photography, LLC. Being a Native of the Fort Collins/LaPorte area means that I’ve been fortunate enough to experience the sanctity of these places since childhood. I extend a warm invite to you to come enjoy the beauty as well.

Wolf Eyes Photography, LLC also offers professional services such as headshots/branding/real estate, and commercial photography in the Northern Colorado area.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy road. I assume that the majority of small business owners would say the same thing.

One has to acclimate to the feeling of rejection, realizing a handful of possible prospects saying “no” is what’s going to eventually lead you down the road to plenty of people answering “yes”.

Resilience is key, and not taking things to heart is a necessary superpower when owning a small business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I began my business in 2015 selling prints of Nature/Wildlife photography to shops and agencies in my area. I still specialize in Nature and Wildlife products such as greeting cards, magnets, and canvas prints, but have also expanded into headshots, real estate photography, and touch in other areas such as weddings, maternity, and family photography. If it involves a camera and some creativity, you can usually count me in.

I’m known for my reputation as a local artist who hustles to get my name out, and I take pride in this reputation.

What sets me apart from others is my eye for the typically unseen beauty that surrounds us daily. One of my favorite complimentary questions is “How did you even see that?” My answer is always the same. I slowed down and looked around. I hope this answer encourages inquiring minds to do the same.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being in nature makes me happy. Some of my best days are spent wandering in the woods mushroom hunting, putting my feet in streams, and holding hummingbirds at feeders (when they’re in the mood to land).

I find that taking the time to put myself in these places, with little or no disruption from the outside world rejuvenates me internally.

Wolves also make me happy. I volunteered for a local Wolf Sanctuary for several years and named my business based on the realization that wolves see things beyond what our (often ordinary) lives bring us the opportunity to see.
