Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanner Fowler

Hi Tanner, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Anna and I began our music journey when she was laid off 2 years ago. She was looking for something to do with her time while she began the search for a new position. Her brothers had both DJ’d in the past, and we we’re both extremely interested in electronic music. We picked up some gear and watched some youtube videos and began teaching ourselves how to DJ! A year into our journey, we began producing music and playing at friends parties, local clubs, and at any event we could. Now 2 years later, we are continuing our journey, DJing regularly every week and producing music as often as we can!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, once we had taught ourselves how to DJ, we began reaching out to every bar and club in town that we could. Most didn’t respond at all, a few said we weren’t ready, and no one gave us an opportunity to even try really. Now that we have put out some mixes and created a personal brand for ourselves, we’re getting many more opportunities.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a freelance cinematographer full-time, and only do music on the side, but the skills translate over very well as an artist! I do tons of editing and rearranging of songs, as well as filming concerts and other DJs, so that contributes a lot to the skills I have learned as a DJ and music producer. Anna is a Project Manager at a tech company and has had pretty much no creative outlet before, so its quite exciting for her to be able to express herself through our music.

How do you define success?
Success is when you’re surrounded by people who would do anything for you on any given day, just because of your character and relationship with them. When you’re constantly happy with life and these people, no matter the status of income or wealth, that is success.
