Conversations with Victoria Evangelista

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Evangelista.

Victoria Evangelista

Hi Victoria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Working in a large corporation, I was introduced to the company’s volunteer program. The next path of my career led me to work in various community nonprofits in Colorado, from Denver to Winter Park to Jefferson County.

In 2016, I created a nonprofit that nurtures young girls and women into perhaps becoming our future successful women entrepreneurs.

Also, I have been self-employed since 2011 and enjoy traveling as much as possible.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
If I haven’t been challenged in a job, I always choose to make a change of employment in an effort to always be learning and enjoying other options. I have viewed the bumps in the road as opportunities.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Having worked for nonprofits most of my career, I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with thousands of volunteers in three different organizations.

I am very proud of being able to start a volunteer program from scratch, which is not a common option, and many programs have been in existence for a long period of time. I am now the founder of a nonprofit and am excited to help young girls and women in our communities.

I am driven to succeed and help others do the same. Knowing there is no such thing as perfection, I strive for excellence in all possible facets of life and career.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I have belonged to a few networking groups for many years. However, I now select only a few groups as I believe that consistency is key to professional success.

Getting to know people who trust you with business is worth creating a strong foundation for building business and relationships.
