Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Smith. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Mompreneur, Victoria is the oldest of 13 children, having to grow up strong and quickly. She is the strength and foundation for her family, breaking traditional curses, creating opportunity, and sharing love where it was lost. Becoming a sister mom, she has two daughters and adopted three of her siblings totaling a tribe of five children.
She has a passion for self-love, nutrition, and mothers. She has a nursing background and transitioned into health & wellness. Born and raised right here in Denver, Co. She has now been a health coach for four years. Opening up her very first nutrition club Bennett Nutrition during the peak of covid, in August 2020. She is now relocated to the Denver area.
The new nutrition club is Park Hill Nutrition, which opened in February 2023. She believes she can best be of service to her community by sharing self-love through how we take care of our bodies first. Hoping to impact the community one shake at a time! At Park Hill Nutrition you’ll always be greeted with a great big smile from her as her goal is to make the shop a place to come together to share smiles, and laughter and improve health and well-being overall.
Victoria is also a newly self-published author. She wrote her first short autobiography about herself in 2023 “She Was Made for This”. which is available on Amazon! As you dive into her story you gain knowledge behind her strength and her love for her family and get to share memories with her that give you perspective on her being a sister mom. Her story is relatable as we all face tough times and even tougher decisions, many of us just don’t speak openly about it and she wants to share the power of voicing what we go through to strengthen us as individuals knowing we’re never alone.
Followed by her first book she has created a mom brand “The Professional Mom” which is her way of creating a vulnerable space for women to walk hand in hand through motherhood, sisterhood, and womanhood. Through The Professional Mom, she will share her divine way of parenting and support all types of mothers. She will be releasing her SECOND book this upcoming June “365 Days of Motivation For The Everyday Mom”.
Victoria’s intention is just for other women and mothers to be able to look at her and understand she stood on everything she believes in and never allowed anything to get in her way and know they can too. To be a voice for women being faced with struggles every day to know the power is always within them as long as they decide it is. To love yourself by nourishing yourself in the proper healthy ways!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish a smooth road was a way to describe my journey in any form. It has been everything except smooth, a smooth road isn’t needed to never give up though. Without the holes in the road, I may not have ever found the strength that has always been in me. May not appreciate my journey the same without the struggles. Sleepless nights, morning tears, and long worrying days.
Truthfully, because I was facing so much in my life with adopting my siblings and everything that brought, opening my first business felt like a piece of cake. I was already walking through hell trying to keep my mother sober, and not lose my siblings while entering adulthood on new levels.
Of course, taking on a new challenge to better myself and them was scary, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Having a great business partner and support system helped of course. After signing our lease, we were open within three months. I was willing to be at the shop every single day putting in the needed work to get our doors opened while being five months pregnant. I truly had no clue about what I was doing and how I would grow.
I joined ULFC (Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado) in 2022, in hopes of guidance, leadership, and growth as a black entrepreneur woman. That’s exactly what I gained, which is why when the decision came to close Bennett Nutrition and relocate to Park Hill Nutrition, was a no-brainer. I learned I needed to be a part of the community I came from and rebuild in the areas important to me there.
The disciple to keep building the business is hard, the consistency isn’t always desirable and there’s always an excuse that sounds good enough to stop or pause. But the real struggle is in every decision I make each day because either choice can be a struggle. I get to choose the struggle I am going to face each day and be bigger and stronger than that struggle.
