Conversations with Yoav Daube

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yoav Daube

Hi Yoav, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The band formed durring Covid when both Travis and I moved to Colorado, he from Georgia and I from New York. We met through social media where both of us were looking to make some friends and discover the local metal scene.

Later on we met Kane while playing shows with his other band at the time. We’ve been in this format since mid 23’ so about a year and a half.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a ride so far.

We do it for the love of the music and it’s our outlet as musicians. That’s what we focus on.

We’ve had to deal with line up changes, booking and marketing shows, an ever-changing scene, managing tours, and of course recording and promoting.

We do everything in the band ourselves. Writing, recording, booking, designing marketing materials (merch, covers, flyers) we even screen print the merch. We value real art and refrain from using ai.

We’ve recently discovered that busking is the best way to make our music heard, cut all the middle part and put it in front of people. I believe our music is for everyone so it’s an appropriate setting, even though we’re a ‘metal band’.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a three piece extreme metal band, we are different in numerous ways but I believe what sets us apart the most is the music we make and the melodies we string together.

Even though many consider us an extreme metal band, our emphasis is not so much on being “heavy”. Nearly all of the music created came from an in the moment expression and free form jamming; having a dialogue musically between each other. The delivery ends up being very fusion. We are mostly listening to jazz, funk, new wave, and world music on the road.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you have a ‏business or location suggestion for our next street show, please let us know!

We would love to build more relationships in the city with business owners (we also do house shows) that want to see Denver streets regain their vibrancy.

Listen to our music on all platforms.
