Conversations with Zuzia Kudasik

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zuzia Kudasik

Hi Zuzia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! I am Zuzia Kudasik, A Polish-American Graphic and Illustrative designer based in Denver. Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of learning about Graphic Design, and through this, I have found a passion in life. While I have always been artistically inclined, I found that design work sparked an interest in me like never before. This led me to begin the graphic design program at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, where I immediately embraced the ways of “design thinking”. I am intrigued by communication, and through personal experiences, I knew that the field of efficient communication was the best choice for me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest struggles that I faced was the Covid-19 Pandemic, as it hit right when I was in the peak of my learning. I only got one semester of college in before the pandemic, and since then I have had to adapt and readjust to this new job and art market. I struggled with a lot of self-doubt along the way, as the path seemed more difficult than it was worth, but having a wonderful support system helped me get through it. Although the pandemic changed the quality of my education, I feel that making the best of what I had really paid off.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a graphic designer, however, I specialize in Sustainable design practices. I am known for taking a thoughtful and practical approach to all my design work and always emphasizing sustainable practices. These practices include monitoring energy output as well as physically considering sustainable materials when printing my work. This approach creates a gentle and natural feel to all my work, which sets me apart from others.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think good luck played a huge role in running my business! I was lucky enough to find coworkers that are amazing and creative, and who I love working with. I was also lucky enough to find clients that align with my work, brand, and vision, allowing for some wonderful collaborations. In general, I have been lucky enough to succeed in doing what I love, and that in itself is the best feeling.
