Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrianne Dobbs.
Hi Adrianne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from the medical field as an ultrasound technician for 16 years. I have been with Nutrishop as a sponsored athlete since about 2016. The owner of Nutrishop contacted me with the opportunity to open a Franchise inside of a 24-Hour fitness knowing that I had been wanting to find the right time to open a store, so I jumped at the chance to be part of this new partnership. Having the chance to be in a location that was already so busy was really exciting! So, I quit my full-time job at UC Health and began this journey.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been smooth in a lot ways because Nutrishop as a franchise has guided me with so much! But there have been speed bumps along the way. For example, the costs of almost everything has been much higher than expected which has run my opening budget quite a bit more than planned. Also, while being in the gym that I am in has provided some great traffic and business, (with many return customers already), I am a bit hidden from outside traffic at this location. So, I am working on booking promo events at locally owned small businesses like boutique-style gyms or other health/fitness-related businesses. The goal is to partner up with as many people in the local community to help generate business for them and vice versa and really develop friendships with people throughout the community to help them achieve the best version of themselves.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Nutrishop is a health, wellness, and sports nutrition supplement store that has been open since 2003, with around 200 locations nationwide. I am currently the only one located in Colorado. We aim to find out about the customer’s personal health or fitness goals and try find ways to help support them. We try to always talk about things like diet, stress, sleep patterns, etc. first, to make sure those things are taken care of. We will be doing things like meal plans/ meal guidance as business grows and I have more help, but we at least are giving some guidance and direction already to help people get on the right path. We make sure to stay as educated about the products as we can to be able to help steer the customer in the right direction. Also, the quality of the products we carry at Nutrishop are going to be great quality with high-end ingredients. A unique thing about us, is we are able to sample out many of the products to you first, to make sure you like the taste or the feel of something- like protein powders, pre workouts, BCAA’s, fruit and veggie powders, etc.
I would say so far, I am the proudest of the feedback I have gotten from customers already about the level of customer service and help they receive. As well as getting great feedback on many of the products and how much better they are starting to feel or are getting results they were hoping for.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is spending summers out on the lake with my family and friends, swimming, inner tubing, kneeboarding, things like that.
