Today we’d like to introduce you to Aileen Vega.
Hi Aileen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After graduating high school in the summer of 2014, I stepped into the world of modeling a path that quickly became both a career and a passion. What began as a leap of faith turned into a journey of self-discovery, creativity, and resilience. My story reflects not just the milestones I’ve reached but the challenges, growth, and lessons that have shaped who I am today in the industry.
It all began in the heart of Glenwood springs Colorado. It’s a quiet town nestled in the Rockies until one unexpected opportunity changed everything.
I was invited to be part of a commercial shoot for a vibrant, lively Mexican restaurant called tequilas. The lights, the camera, the energy it was my first step into the world of modeling. What started as a single project soon became a spark, igniting a passion I never knew I had.
That moment of standing under the lights, embodying a brand my passion….. THIS is what I was meant to do.
I began pursuing modeling opportunities in Denver while living in Glenwood Springs. Despite the distance, I made frequent trips to and from the city for events and castings, determined to break into the industry. At the same time, I balanced a full-time job and school, managing an intense schedule with unwavering focus. The drive I had to reach my goals was incredible and it pushed me to keep going, even when things got tough.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No Not at all! the road has been anything but smooth. The modeling industry is incredibly competitive and constantly evolving, and standing out takes more than just a look. It takes consistency, resilience and an immense amount of self-discipline. From the beginning, I knew that breaking through wouldn’t come easy. I had to work twice as hard to build credibility, earn trust, and prove my versatility in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
Some of the biggest challenges I faced included rejection, the pressure to meet ever-changing standards and the reality that talent alone isn’t always enough. The timing and opportunity matter just as much! There were periods of doubt, where castings felt endless and bookings were sparse. But every setback taught me something valuable about the business, about people, and most importantly about myself.
What’s helped me make a name for myself is staying grounded, constantly improving, and treating every opportunity, big or small, with professionalism. I’ve worked hard to build a reputation based on reliability and creativity. Nothing about this path has been easy, but every challenge has shaped me into the model and person I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional model specializing in fashion, promotional, fitness and commercial work. As my career began with local photoshoots and runway events and it has since evolved into a career that includes collaborations with notable photographers, designers, and brands across various platforms.
My specialties lie in high fashion and commercial
modeling. I’m known for my versatility being able to embody different moods, aesthetics, and concepts in front of the camera
What I’m most proud of is how I’ve developed my brand and voice in an industry that often prioritizes image over individuality. I’ve been able to maintain a sense of authenticity while adapting to the artistic vision of each client and shoot. I also take pride in mentoring emerging models, helping them navigate the often unspoken aspects of the profession.
What sets me apart is my work ethic, my emotional range in front of the camera, and my collaborative spirit. I see modeling not just as posing, but as storytelling and expressing my creativity.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking has played a major role in my journey as a model, and my perspective on it has evolved as my career has progressed. I’ve come to see risk not as something to avoid, but as something to manage thoughtfully. In modeling, just like in life, staying too comfortable can mean missing out on growth, new opportunities, and even self-discovery.
One of the biggest risks I took was deciding to pursue modeling seriously in the first place. At the time, it wasn’t a guaranteed path there was no roadmap, no certainty that it would “work out,” and definitely no fallback plan.
I was putting myself out there, constantly facing rejection, criticism, and the pressure to meet industry standards. But I knew that if I didn’t take that leap, I would always wonder what could have been. That initial decision required stepping away from stability and choosing to bet on myself.
