Daily Inspiration: Meet Andrew Frank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Frank.

Andrew Frank

Hi Andrew, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your back story.
I started in the construction business out of college as a first-time career in the Ohio Market. Soon after starting in my early 20s, I moved to Chicago and then to the Colorado region with a corporate construction manufacturing company.

After moving to Colorado for a year, I switched career paths and went to work for a customer in the distribution of the construction goods I was manufacturing. This move in my early 20s was motivated by setting myself up in a business field that made the opportunity for entrepreneurship more feasible as my career progressed.

I was raised in an entrepreneurial family and always had the desire to build a company of my own. After 15 years working in the corporate structure and working my way up the management change, I felt the need in my mid-30s to break away.

My company had sold and gone to a larger consolidation company and my business partners felt the time and opportunity to start our own company was right. In 2019, we quit and started the process of building our own business.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If there is one thing, I concretely say about being an entrepreneur and starting your business NOTHING about it is easy. Change and obstacles are around every corner and the ability to address those challenges and see/make opportunities for them is the key factor in being successful.

Less than one year after starting the company COVID hit. Daily we were unsure of a landscape we had known and operated in for 20 years. During this time, we did flourish. This was mainly due to being creative, and nimble, not focusing on the negatives, and seizing opportunities as they came.

In less than five years, with 2-1/2 being COVID years, we grew to three locations with over 50 employees. Focusing on your people is key to success in running your own business. Be fair, and ethical, live by the Golden Rule, and treat each person as if they are your family and they will return the energy.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a part owner of a construction supply company in Colorado. We have three locations across the state and service the entire Front Range of Colorado.

Starting my own company with my partners, raising my amazing daughter, and giving back to the community and industry that has served me so well are my top priorities and pride.

Setting oneself apart from others is always unique but contestant at its core to be successful. I have found being creative and able to move and think in the moment is always key. Most people see opportunities but spend more time convincing themselves of “why not do it”, than driving forward in making it happen.

I have always been one who charges through obstacles to reach my goals.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is seeing the opportunities that others cannot, and then setting goals to reach those visions and make them a reality.
