Daily Inspiration: Meet Audria Turnbull

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audria Turnbull. 

Hi Audria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Audria Rayne Turnbull. I am a wife, mom, and Army veteran. I started this business with no experience or knowledge on how to make jewelry. I just had a desire to make beautiful and unique jewelry for amazing ladies. Making earrings was just the beginning. Now we have a wide range of unique and beautiful jewelry, accessories, and hopefully a little something that makes you smile. I specialize in custom designs and bridal jewelry. I started solely selling online, grew to in-person pop-up markets, and now in an artesian boutique, and this is just the beginning. I am a maker and also a baker. I have been making jewelry since April 2020 and truly love making unique jewelry and accessories for amazing women. It might just be my love to make things, but I also LOVE baking, I am 100% a cookie and cupcake gal, but more so just love getting the KitchenAid mixer out and making anything sweet for my family. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting a business is an obstacle in itself. I like to think that my attention to detail is my strongest attribute, but at first, I was so focused on making the jewelry for each order and shipping it out within 24 hours that the quality was not where it should have been and I completely misread my scale and overpaid on shipping costs… I still shake my head that I did that, I’ve since learned how to read my scale and won’t make that mistake again. I have also extended my processing timeline to 2-3 days and now I focus on using only quality materials and spending the important time curating each piece. I truly believe that it’s the little things that matter the most and I make each piece with love. My goal is to brighten someone’s day with a “Little Thing” from my shop. The journey has not been easy, but it all worth it at the end of the day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My goal is to make jewelry or accessories for everyday wear. I always lean towards neutral and classic colors and styles, but I do have quite a few bold pieces as well. I specialize in custom designs and bridal jewelry. I’ve made custom designs from a special pair of earrings from a mom to her daughter for her first day of school, to matching perfectly an outfit for family photos, to making a matching bracelet to a favorite necklace. When it comes to custom orders, it starts as a simple conversation so I can get to know the person, and understand what they really want and how I can capture it perfectly in jewelry. Then I begin making “test” pieces, and will make as many as it takes until they say, “that’s prefect, I love it!”. I enjoy this because each piece is uniquely made for that special person or occasion. I also specialize in bridal jewelry. And to be a small part of such a big day is such an honor!!! I make elegant pearls designs to statement earrings with a little sparkle. I even offer bridesmaids gift boxes or gifts for the mother of the Bride and Groom. Coming next wedding season, I will offer hair pieces and flower for girl designs. I am the one-stop shop for bridal jewelry and accessories and my goal is to take the stress from the bride and provide a little gift for everyone in the wedding party and a whole lot of smiles. 

What do you think about luck?
I like to think that I have pretty good luck. Like when I’m driving, I usually get all green lights or usually find the closest parking spot. But I believe a lot of it had to do with your mentality. I am an optimistic person who finds the good or positives in every situation. On the tough days, I try to find the positives or growth opportunities in every situation. Especially when it comes to my business, I’ve been very fortunate to have met the most amazing ladies along the way that have helped my business and me personally grow so much. Some months are slow, but at the end of every slow month is light at the end of the tunnel. Whether it is a random large order, or someone asking to partner with me and use some of my earrings in a photoshoot. If you have a positive outlook, you will have more “good luck” days than bad.

• Studs are between $8-$10
• Statement/ Dangle Earrings are $25 – $30
• Bridal earrings are $30 – $50
• Custom orders are between $25 – $40 and you only pay once I’ve made your prefect/idea piece
• Accessories range from $6 key chains to $85 painted hats
